Clouds darkened the skies at Sinkhole as 25207 spectators turned up for the match. Kenny Roberts was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Oscar Dunglas and Kai Fauland. Claesson almost resulted in a goal for Superboom, but G. Grande's shot rebounded off the post. C. Olmedillo could have put Werther into the lead after 36 minutes, but the free kick went just wide. A. Lerebourg was called on to replace Werther's C. Olmedillo after 40 minutes following a nasty collision. Werther took the lead after 41 minutes as a result of P. Tognato's peach of a shot from the right hand side of the box - placed beautifully in the top corner. 1 - 0. After 44 minutes Werther's P. Hamedani had to be carried off on a stretcher in agony. I. Velasco Carrillo came in to replace him. The teams went for the halftime break at 1 - 0. Possession in this half belonged to Werther, who controlled the ball 61 percent of the time.

A. Brizuela of Werther received a yellow card after 66 minutes for unsportsmanlike behaviour. After 70 minutes, a couple of quick and successful challenges followed by a shot from just outside the penalty area by S. Qvist might have resulted in another goal for Werther. However, G. Mari made a spectacular save. The crowd was silenced 72 minutes into the match as the visiting team's L. Te chih came in from the left, levelling the score to 1 - 1. The visiting B. Voldbirk was booed thoroughly by the home crowd 76 minutes into the game, after he broke through the middle and scored, resulting in the visitors taking the lead. 1 - 2 was the score. Werther enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 63 percent of possession.

Most important Werther player was C. Claesson. A. Da Concesio on the other hand, had a terrible day. Superboom's top performer was clearly O. Fig Nielsen. On the other hand, G. Grande's play was disheartening. The match ends 1 - 2.
