19900 spectators had come to Forzakayo Arena this cloudy day. Bertil Börjesson was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Jan Alexandersson and Heikki Peuralahti. Forzakayo had chosen a strategic 3-4-3 formation. The following players had been chosen: Cruellas - Jahkonen, Vanwiddingen, Manfrin - Kamp, Tichon, Kuba, Marcelli - Quesnot, Yaegashi, Henckel.

Hironica decided to use a 3-5-2 set up. Starters: Vergnasco - Araújo, Gomucio, Romani - Krejčiřík, Spinelli, Ungureanu, Mühlenbrücke, Lasmanis - Cronskog, Orella.

Hironica saw most attack opportunities on the wings. L. Jahkonen behaved like an inexperienced youth player after 38 minutes as he gave the ball away to D. Lasmanis. Lucky for him though, there was no goal. Some great play up the middle by Forzakayo led to a chance for J. Vanwiddingen to score after 41 minutes, but the shot hit the crossbar. 0 - 0 was the score after the first half. Neither team was controlling the possession at this point in the match, with the stats showing a 50:50 split.

Hironica had a good opportunity to attack in the middle, but remembered their instructions to focus on wing attacks instead. After 54 minutes, Hironica put themselves up 0 - 1, as P. Gomucio finished off a strike from the left with a real cannonball of a shot. 55 minutes into the match, the visitors put themselves ahead 0 - 2 as U. Mühlenbrücke finished off an attack from the left with a spectacular scissors kick. The home team's supporters got excited again when T. Henckel broke through the visitors' central defence and caught their keeper off guard, making it 1 - 2. With the crowd on their feet chanting wildly, some great moves down the right hand side after 70 minutes gave Forzakayo a wonderful opportunity to level the score, and T. Henckel stepped up to the challenge. 2 - 2 The referee showed Forzakayo's M. Marcelli the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. A well placed corner kick from P. Gomucio was followed by T. Araújo's hard but accurate header. The well executed routine resulted in a goal for Hironica, the score now 2 - 3. The Hironica free kick 87 minutes into the match seemed wasted, as the shot was both short and off target. But was this actually a plan? The ball landed at the feet of D. Orella, who was completely unmarked in the box. That's 2 - 4! Forzakayo claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 51 percent.

Forzakayo's top performer was clearly N. Tichon. E. Cruellas turned in a dismal performance, however. D. Orella performed admirably for Hironica. However, L. Krejčiřík made a disastrous appearance. The match ends 2 - 4.
