Roden found an opening in the visitors' left side defence, but his shot was handled easily by the keeper. The head of E. Tomasoni connected with a corner kick after 20 minutes, and the ball ended up with C. Rick of F.c. who blasted the ball into the net, making the score 1 - 1. 26 minutes had elapsed when a great chance for F.c. to take the lead after a good cross from the right found L. Simon alone with the keeper, but he chipped it to the wrong side of the post. F.c. made a bid to take the lead as a ball coming in on the right hand side left P. Gramajo completely alone with keeper E. Bider, who made a spectacular block. Many thought P. Gramajo ought to have been awarded a penalty 41 minutes into the game, as he went down trying to dribble around E. Bider after a determined run through the middle. Mice were great at switching from defence to attack, and after 42 minutes, W. Chakroun swept through the middle on a counterattack, making the score 1 - 2. It was 1 - 2 at the break. F.c. enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 60 percent of possession.

The Mice free kick 55 minutes into the match seemed wasted, as the shot was both short and off target. But was this actually a plan? The ball landed at the feet of M. Brunori, who was completely unmarked in the box. That's 1 - 3! F.c.'s L. Simon managed a superb strike from the left after 70 minutes that would have left goalkeeper E. Bider without a chance, had it not hit the post. A. Detmold almost reduced the deficit, having drawn the entire left side defence away, but the shot went straight into the arms of the goalkeeper. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by F.c., with 61 percent of the ball.

F.c.'s top performer was clearly C. Rick. On the other hand, F. Griffa's play was disheartening. S. Semlinger performed admirably for Mice. C. Carlos on the other hand, had a terrible day. The match ends 1 - 3.
