Lite 1 - 6 Devils
(392390540)

20-06-2012 09.45
25000 spectators arrived at
Lite Stadion, where weather conditions were pretty good for football.
Marek Lont was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Albrecht Litschi and
Nathan Kammann.
Lite had chosen a strategic 3-4-3 formation.
The following players had been chosen: Pizzotti - Gomendradi, Erez, Palka - Petretto, Brinkhoffs, Kákóczi, May - Coluccia, Riera, Oneto.
Devils tactics involved an interesting 2-5-3 combination.
Starters: Bohár - Sundborg, Raffay - Hooper, Füge, Deák, Perticone, Pypłacz - van Daatselaar, Ivčević, Kuffner.
Lite mostly ignored the flanks in favour of their ability to attack in the middle.
Devils tried to focus their attacks down the middle.
The visiting
K. Füge was booed thoroughly by the home crowd 16 minutes into the game, after he broke through the middle and scored, resulting in the visitors taking the lead. 0 - 1 was the score.
With 28 minutes having been played, Lite scored to make it 1 - 1. A dribble down the left wing, followed by a shot which took a wicked bounce off a defender resulted in the keeper having no chance. Everyone thought it'd been an own goal, but
H. Riera was marked down as the scorer.
A mistake by the home side's central defence after 29 minutes allowed
A. van Daatselaar to score for Devils. The scoreboard now read 1 - 2.
Central attacks were the recipe of the day for Devils, as they moved the ball from the wings to the middle with startling regularity.
After 39 minutes a combination in the middle resulted in a through ball for
B. Raffay who increased Devils's lead to 1 - 3.
The home side worked hard to get through the middle and as a result, had a good chance of getting one back as
I. Palka tried lifting the ball over keeper
K. Bohár. Unfortunately, the ball went just over the bar.
Lite had to make a substitution after 43 minutes.
J. Gomendradi limped off the field and was replaced by
D. Kurucsai.
Devils had a good opportunity to attack on the wing, but remembered their instructions to go for middle attacks.
F. Hooper received a delicate pass through the home side's central defence after 44 minutes, and chipped it past the flailing keeper to score making it 1 - 4. The Devils fans went wild, whilst the home fans started to think about leaving early.
By now, the players in Devils felt that victory was guaranteed and began to play it safe, focusing on defence and not risking too much going forward.
It was 1 - 4 at the break.
Possession in this half belonged to Devils, who controlled the ball 67 percent of the time.
After 54 minutes, a mistake by the home side's left defence allowed
A. Deák to get through. He outclassed the home side's keeper, adding another goal for the visitors. 1 - 5.
A. Deák fired a shot from distance after 71 minutes, but the long shot couldn't find the net for Devils.
After 77 minutes, Devils's
K. Füge burst through the central defence and let loose a cannonball of a shot, scoring for 1 - 6.
After several obvious shirt pulling incidents,
R. Kuffner got himself booked. The manager of Devils was not happy.
Devils claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 66 percent.
Lite's top performer was clearly
I. Oneto.
However,
I. May made a disastrous appearance.
The most dominating Devils player was without a doubt
M. Perticone.
F. Hooper turned in a dismal performance, however.
The match ends 1 - 6.
