Dark skies made the crowd of 12000 at
Hooters a little nervous, but the rain held off.
Abdullah Haj-Shadi was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Conny Svensson and
Lubomir Prokopiev.
triPle0X.ch had chosen a strategic 4-4-2 formation.
The following players took the field: Rinikger - Spechtenhauser, Trope, Stadtmann, Krapf - Vagenhofer, Helmi, Fasel, Niederberger - Möllers, Cretton.
A 3-5-2 alignment was the formation of choice for Diabolico.
Starters: Schevelik - Bell, Groeger, Pelzer - Cancela, Kesper, Simpson, Simma, Carbonell - Canche, Le Roy.
Diabolico decided to play creatively.
The coach of Diabolico wanted to try to change things around after 1 minutes, and gave new tactical instructions.
Some good play on the left wing created an opportunity for the visitors 24 minutes into the match, and
M. Carbonell wasn't about to let it go by. He got past the defenders and fired a shot that the keeper just missed. 0 - 1 for the visitors.
27 minutes into the match, the visitors put themselves ahead 0 - 2 as
R. Simma finished off an attack from the left with a spectacular scissors kick.
Diabolico increased their lead after 35 minutes when
A. Kesper broke through on the right, upping the score to 0 - 3, much to the home crowd's dismay.
The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave
T. Helmi from triPle0X.ch a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 36 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient!
H. Groeger's knee will be throbbing for days, but thankfully for Diabolico, he bravely continued in the match.
H. Groeger of Diabolico took advantage of a mistake on the home side's right after 38 minutes which increased the away team's lead to 0 - 4.
Diabolico's
M. Canche got himself booked for a foul.
A well placed corner kick from
H. Simpson was followed by
M. Carbonell's hard but accurate header. The well executed routine resulted in a goal for Diabolico, the score now 0 - 5.
The players of Diabolico now seemed to think the job was done and acted more defensively, just waiting for the ref to blow the final whistle.
After 43 minutes, Diabolico sent a free kick in high over the penalty box. In what looked like a well-rehearsed move, the ball was headed backwards and reached
A. Kesper, who had plenty of space to place a well aimed shot - 0 - 6.
Halftime score was 0 - 6.
Diabolico claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 84 percent.
The Diabolico coach was visibly pleased with the score so far, but still ordered a few tactical changes 46 minutes into the game.
Some fine movement on the left led to a Diabolico goal after 50 minutes, making it 0 - 7.
M. Canche was noted down as the scorer.
With 55 minutes played, a quick exchange of passes on the left wing freed
D. Pelzer of Diabolico to slip through the defence and score another goal for the visitors. That made the score 0 - 8.
H. Simpson received a delicate pass through the home side's central defence after 56 minutes, and chipped it past the flailing keeper to score making it 0 - 9. The Diabolico fans went wild, whilst the home fans started to think about leaving early.
60 minutes into the game, Diabolico worked the left side industriously creating several opportunities to add to their lead, but just couldn't apply the finishing touch.

T. Möllers received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first.
A loud groan was heard from the fans of Diabolico, as
H. Groeger left the pitch in too much pain to finish the match.
T. Lorain took his place on the field.
The visitors'
M. Carbonell took advantage of a misunderstanding between the home side's goalie and centre backs 63 minutes into the match. 0 - 10 for Diabolico.
By then
M. Carbonell had scored three goals - a hat trick!
After 89 minutes, the Diabolico players received new instructions from their manager on how to keep in control of the game.
Possession in this half belonged to Diabolico, who controlled the ball 87 percent of the time.
B. Cretton performed admirably for triPle0X.ch.
T. Möllers turned in a dismal performance, however.
Diabolico's best player was

D. Pelzer on the other hand, had a terrible day.
