Ola Askenwald.
Everyone was excited about the upcoming
Basel derby and the crowd was divided evenly.
Telebasel had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation.
The following players took the field: Alcarria - Helstad, Molin, Rocha - Althaus, Gómez, Mucha, Moschini, Renard - Eich, Alexandersson.
Weidenmann tactics involved an interesting 4-5-1 combination.
Lineup: Prinz - Bajna, Henneuse, Salvisberg, Delgado - Bänninger, Rumbold, Huon, Alb, Heckner - Weisshaupt.
Telebasel were relying on their ability to counter-attack.
Weidenmann displayed their ability to play creatively.
Telebasel's
M. Althaus was dominating his wing and kept sending fine balls into the opposition's box -
N. Renard managed to volley one of them into the net to make it 1 - 0 after 23 minutes.
After 26 minutes, the defensive line of Telebasel created a counterattack through the middle that gave
G. Eich a good look at the goal, but his shot glanced harmlessly off the crossbar.
Telebasel played a good counterattacking move down the left 34 minutes into the match, with
M. Mucha finishing well for 2 - 0.
35 minutes into the game, Weidenmann's
G. Salvisberg surprised the visitors with a raking cross-field pass to
S. Weisshaupt who easily found the back of the net, making the score 2 - 1.

R. Gómez contracted a slight foot injury, but didn't want to leave the game.
The teams went for the halftime break at 2 - 1.

The bench was restless, and with 46 minutes passed Weidenmann's coach gave
W. Neroberg the opportunity the player had been hoping for.
F. Bänninger reluctantly left the field.
After 60 minutes, Weidenmann switched
A. Heckner with
N. Ramsey, hoping for a quick impact on the pitch.
Some things can only be learned through experience, and
R. Gómez should take his lesson to heart after nearly gifting Weidenmann a goal with 60 minutes of the match played.
A great save by keeper
F. Prinz after 71 minutes kept the visitors in the game after
S. Alexandersson struck from the left with a real cannonball.
R. Bajna tied the game at 2 - 2 after 81 minutes, when he converted an incredible pass from the right.

W. Neroberg got himself booked for a foul.
As the 89 minute mark approached, the Weidenmann coach decided it was time for a substitution.
G. Salvisberg reluctantly made way for
Y. Ducatillon on the pitch.
Y. Ducatillon was handed the Weidenmann captain's armband.
Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Weidenmann, with 57 percent of the ball.
Still tied after 90 minutes, the match continued into extra time.

N. Ramsey put the ball away for 2 - 3.
Game over, Weidenmann win!
Telebasel's top performer was clearly
K. Helstad.
