Viet cong increased their lead after 28 minutes when A. Blunden broke through on the right, upping the score to 0 - 2, much to the home crowd's dismay. After this, you could see that the players of Viet cong were more interested in killing time than scoring more goals. Viet cong's D. Garriott got himself booked for a foul. The player down was K. Burdon. The FC_Freddos bench looked worried for a while, but in the end he managed to get up. The home crowd was not impressed when X. Barr came in from the right, shooting hard to score after 34 minutes. Viet cong were now up 0 - 3. A. Vass was, after 36 minutes, almost able to extend the visitors' lead with a well placed diving header after the ball had looped into the centre, but the home side's keeper M. McNaught made the save. It was 0 - 3 at the break. Viet cong claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 87 percent.

In an effort to secure the lead, Viet cong changed their tactic after 46 minutes. X. Barr came close to extending the visitors' lead when he found himself completely unmarked in front of the goal after a pass through the middle. He tried to lift the ball over M. McNaught but overcooked it and hit the bar instead. After 58 minutes, an incisive pass through the middle gave B. Tate a chance to increase the lead for Viet cong, and he did not disappoint. The score was then 0 - 4. After 61 minutes, a mistake by the home side's left defence allowed D. Garriott to get through. He outclassed the home side's keeper, adding another goal for the visitors. 0 - 5. After 69 minutes, Viet cong's B. Tate burst through the central defence and let loose a cannonball of a shot, scoring for 0 - 6. After 71 minutes a very unfortunate collision in the penalty area led to Viet cong's S. Kelday being carried off the pitch and replaced by M. Sibert. With 76 minutes played, Viet cong put themselves up 0 - 7 after an attack from the right, caused by a defensive blunder. The scorer was B. Tate. That was his third goal of the match - a hat trick for B. Tate. Still ahead in the game after 80 minutes, Viet cong made some tactical adjustments. J. Brett and A. Blunden swapped positions. A. Vass wanted to play on, but the Viet cong coach had other ideas, and he was replaced 89 minutes into the game by C. Vegh. Content with how the game was proceeding, the Viet cong coach let J. Coatsworth replace R. Aponkus after 89 minutes. B. Tate was handed the Viet cong captain's armband. Viet cong had most of the ball, with 90 percent of possession.
