Using their counter-attacking abilities was the strategy of choice for Yog-Shoggoth. A lack of experience caused A. Kapaklis to make a difficult dribble close to dangerous opponent K. Gruen of Yog-Shoggoth, who took the opportunity to score making it 0 - 1. With 19 minutes played, Huercalense's S. Bashirov found an opening in the visitors' left side defence, but his shot was handled easily by the keeper. With the clock showing 20 minutes played, a great pass from the defensive line of Yog-Shoggoth resulted in a counterattack that was smoothly brought under control by K. Gruen in the centre of the opposition's penalty area, but his finish went high. With 25 minutes played, after a good run down the left, G. Lo Capezzo went down looking for a penalty after a challenge from the visitors' right fullback, but the referee waved play on, and later warned him for diving. N. Boulanger showed the skills that make him a real crowd pleaser as he, after 26 minutes, wove through the guests' entire central defence and put the 1 - 1 equaliser away. A quick counter attack by Yog-Shoggoth forced the opponent's defender to give away a freekick. R. Esteves was allowed to take it quickly by the referee, much to the dismay of the goalkeeper who wasn't prepared. 1 - 2! Halftime score was 1 - 2. Possession in this half belonged to Huercalense, who controlled the ball 76 percent of the time.

With 48 minutes played, C. Sumbera of Yog-Shoggoth fell dramatically just outside the penalty area. However, the referee was unimpressed, and booked him for diving. After 54 minutes, N. Boulanger got through on the right and was very close to equalising for the home side, but didn't get the shot away. Good work by the Yog-Shoggoth defensive line after 55 minutes produced a good counterattack chance, which cut elegantly down the middle of the pitch and found C. Sumbera alone in front of the goal, but his shot whistled just wide. Huercalense's C. van Ardenne made a successful breakthrough on the left after 63 minutes and should have levelled the score, but instead he clipped it over the bar. Huercalense's C. van Ardenne almost tied things up with 78 minutes played after breaking through on the right, but his shot deflected off the post. Huercalense claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 75 percent.

The most dominating Huercalense player was without a doubt G. Lo Capezzo. On the other hand, E. de Wijs's play was disheartening. Yog-Shoggoth's top performer was clearly K. Gruen. E. Borghs turned in a dismal performance, however. The match ends 1 - 2.
