(392425939)

20-06-2012 12.00
Dark skies made the crowd of 29717 at
BALY CLUB. FC Arena a little nervous, but the rain held off.
Erik Torsson was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Przemysław Tomalik and
Thomas Capoccia.
BALY decided to use a 3-5-2 set up.
Lineup: Porcuna - Aguirre, Vieveen, Fávero - Casolari, Padula, Pascalino, Ikäläinen, De Valensart - Schwanninger-Maucher, Crotta.
Palmeira tactics involved an interesting 3-4-2 combination.
Starters: Fernández-Savater - Sáng, Zaczyński, Cordomí - Bönninghausen, Painevilu, Carotti, Yecora - Weidekamp, Monolo.
Palmeira were determined to use their long shot ability.
BALY took the lead, 1 - 0, after a penalty 17 minutes into the match.
F. Casolari scored from the penalty spot.
With 32 minutes of the game having been played,
E. Monolo received a blow to the hip in a collision and was unable to continue. Palmeira, with no available replacements, now faced the prospect of finishing the game with a reduced number of players.
Palmeira's
D. Carotti was shown a yellow card after 36 minutes for slicing down an opponent.
42 minutes into the game, Palmeira seemed to suffer a certain amount of confusion and they fell to a
passable level of organisation.
After 44 minutes, BALY's
J. Porcuna fell awkwardly, but was determined to stay in the match. That's the spirit!
The score became 2 - 0 at 44 minutes into the game, when BALY were given a penalty which
F. Casolari blasted straight down the middle giving the keeper no chance!
The teams went for the halftime break at 2 - 0.
Palmeira enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 53 percent of possession.
The Palmeira players spent the break getting a rerun of the team's tactical organisation and regained a
solid organisation when the game started again.
Good work by the BALY defensive line after 66 minutes produced a good counterattack chance, which cut elegantly down the middle of the pitch and found
N. Padula alone in front of the goal, but his shot whistled just wide.
D. Vieveen increased the lead for BALY to 3 - 0, getting a head onto a hooked ball from the right. The ball looked to have taken a deflection on the way in, but he's claiming it!
At this point, it was obvious that the players of BALY lowered the tempo and became more defensively oriented.
Palmeira's
P. Weidekamp was shown a yellow card for standing over the ball and blocking an opponent's quick free kick after 81 minutes.
Coming from the right,
V. De Valensart almost managed to score another goal for BALY, but his header was tipped over the bar by the visitors' keeper.
After 87 minutes, Palmeira were awarded a free kick. Rather than shooting straight at goal, the taker went for an indirect variant which seemed to take his team mates a bit by surprise.
R. Painevilu did attempt a finish, but from an awkward position, sending the ball into the away fans.
Palmeira claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 54 percent.
Most important BALY player was
D. Vieveen.
L. Ikäläinen on the other hand, had a terrible day.
L. Sáng performed admirably for Palmeira.
However,
R. Bönninghausen made a disastrous appearance.
The match ends 3 - 0.
