20-06-2012 14.00
The 28753 fans in attendance at
Red Bull Arena were roasting in the hot sun.
Andrea Rifici was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Benoît Zwinggi and
Radu Musunoi.
Zabreh started off with a 3-5-2 lineup.
The following players had been chosen: Árvay - Boloş, Suteau, Gray - Pruvot, Furgieri, Studnický, Edenhofer, Boujelben - Petrović, Šťastný.
Stodůlky tactics involved an interesting 5-4-1 combination.
They fielded: Braamcamp - Buben, Vosmík, Hrádek, Minx, Dvořáček - Mazanec, Ščemeliovas, Rus, Kulich - Machielsen.
Today, Zabreh's strategy involved concentrating on the flanks for their attacks.
E. Rus had a good opportunity to give Stodůlky the lead as he charged down the right and struck the ball towards the top corner, but the home team's goalkeeper made the save.
35 minutes into the game, a swerving free kick by
T. Boujelben almost resulted in the home team taking the lead, but the shot glanced harmlessly off the frame of the goal.
Some quick footwork on the left side of the field 37 minutes into the match left Stodůlky's
Z. Minx completely free to score. 0 - 1 for the visitors.
0 - 1 was the halftime score.
Stodůlky claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 54 percent.
As usual,
V. Boloş tried to use his strength and hard work for the benefit of the team, but the heat hit him hard and he couldn't keep pace at all.
Having been awarded a free kick in an awkward position after 54 minutes, Stodůlky did not go for a shot but instead fired the ball hard into the 6 yard box. After a brief tussle with his marker,
T. Mazanec was able to power the ball past the keeper to make the score 0 - 2.
54 minutes into the match Zabreh's
V. Boloş head butted an opponent nastily, and so the referee sent him off immediately.
Stodůlky increased the lead to 0 - 3 as
I. Dvořáček scored from the penalty spot, putting the ball in near the top left corner.
After 64 minutes, Stodůlky were awarded a free kick. Rather than shooting straight at goal, the taker went for an indirect variant which seemed to take his team mates a bit by surprise.
M. Machielsen did attempt a finish, but from an awkward position, sending the ball into the away fans.
V. Kulich was, after 67 minutes, almost able to extend the visitors' lead with a well placed diving header after the ball had looped into the centre, but the home side's keeper
Z. Árvay made the save.
Possession was split evenly between the teams.
Zabreh's top performer was clearly
S. Studnický.
D. Suteau was a disappointment, however.
The most dominating Stodůlky player was without a doubt
T. Ščemeliovas.
D. Hrádek turned in a dismal performance, however.
The match ends 0 - 3.
