CHT 0 - 3 Celtic
(392441544)

20-06-2012 14.00
Overcast weather free of rain made for a crowd turnout of 18299 at
Tomcat Stadium d'Chartreaux today.
All of
Jihomoravský kraj was shut down for the day, as fans of both clubs came to the derby.
A 4-4-2 alignment was the formation of choice for CHT.
The following players took the field: Kubik - Corrado, Lucardi, Carpentier, Leyhausen - Beldam, Okarma, Tello, Lorenzoni - Hering, Busschaert.
Celtic tactics involved an interesting 4-5-1 combination.
Starters: Rolfsson - Kankaanpää, Carondelet, Pömpel, Martinek - Trapletti, Baklík, Šturm, Hauser-Larcher, Wrethling - Kremlička.
Celtic were mostly trying to use their skill at attacking on the flanks.
CHT's
M. Okarma tried to break through in the middle repeatedly, but couldn't get past the visitors' defenders.
It was obvious that Celtic had instructions to attack on the wings instead of in the middle.
This was a good period for the visitors, with several opportunities to take the lead, particularly when
J. Šturm slipped through the defence on the right to come up alone against
D. Kubik, but the home side's keeper showed his lightning reflexes.
Celtic's
J. Šturm gave the visitors a 0 - 1 lead after 39 minutes with a superb strike from the right.
M. Wrethling made one of his many fine passes from the wing into the middle 42 minutes into the match.
M. Kremlička bravely attempted to execute a diving header and the ball was met firmly with his forehead for Celtic. 0 - 2.
J. Šturm received some harsh words from his coach after he acted foolishly 42 minutes into the match, probably out of lack of experience, and almost let an opponent score.
After the ball was lifted in from the left,
M. Kremlička was on his own in the home side's penalty area and should have scored after 43 minutes, but missed, probably due to lack of concentration.
D. Kubik got a fingertip on
H. Hauser-Larcher's shot from the left 44 minutes in, and managed to keep the visitors from going up another goal.
The teams went for the halftime break at 0 - 2.
Celtic claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 62 percent.
After 53 minutes a well-practised indirect free kick routine by Celtic was easily anticipated by the defenders. The players forward were so well marked, they were left with few viable options.
With 55 minutes played, Celtic put themselves up 0 - 3 after an attack from the right, caused by a defensive blunder. The scorer was
H. Hauser-Larcher.
After 75 minutes, CHT switched
C. Lorenzoni with
T. Nykyri, hoping for a quick impact on the pitch.
CHT's
B. Beldam's long shot really ought to have found the net 77 minutes into the match, but it fell just wide of the target.
Celtic enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 61 percent of possession.
CHT's best player was
A. Busschaert.
On the other hand,
D. Kubik's play was disheartening.
The most dominating Celtic player was without a doubt
O. Baklík.
H. Pömpel was a disappointment, however.
The match ends 0 - 3.
