Overcast weather free of rain made for a crowd turnout of 7000 at
Stânga Nistrului Arena today.
Óscar Nuez was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Ilmari Lahtinen and
Sacha Wind.
Nistrului decided to use a 4-4-2 set up.
The following players took the field: Ceban - Zubari, Cabatov, Dobreanu, Gheţu - Luca, Cotoros, Cozonac, Pozdîrcă - Damaşcan, Gudumac.
Zernoff started off with a 2-5-3 lineup.
They fielded: Höhenschäft - van Anraad, Dabija - Sánchez Bueno, Kunnas, Caisîn, Schiattarella, Panici - Krähenbühl, Bakx, Iuşcenco.
V. Dobreanu got left behind when Zernoff's
B. Iuşcenco made a sudden run forward after 10 minutes, finishing off with a neat strike. 0 - 1!
The corner kick from
G. Zubari was powerfully met by the head of
M. Gheţu to make the score 1 - 1.
Some good play on the left wing created an opportunity for the visitors 30 minutes into the match, and
R. Krähenbühl wasn't about to let it go by. He got past the defenders and fired a shot that the keeper just missed. 1 - 2 for the visitors.
Having been awarded a free kick in an awkward position after 33 minutes, Zernoff did not go for a shot but instead fired the ball hard into the 6 yard box. After a brief tussle with his marker,
A. Schiattarella was able to power the ball past the keeper to make the score 1 - 3.
Zernoff came close to extending their lead as
A. Schiattarella delivered a low effort on goal from the right after 34 minutes, but the angle was too narrow and the shot went harmlessly into the side netting.
With 39 minutes played, a quick exchange of passes on the left wing freed
J. Bakx of Zernoff to slip through the defence and score another goal for the visitors. That made the score 1 - 4.
After 40 minutes, an incisive pass through the middle gave
J. Bakx a chance to increase the lead for Zernoff, and he did not disappoint. The score was then 1 - 5.
1 - 5 was the score after the first half.
Zernoff enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 83 percent of possession.
After 47 minutes, a mistake by the home side's left defence allowed
J. Bakx to get through. He outclassed the home side's keeper, adding another goal for the visitors. 1 - 6.
This third goal completed a hattrick for
J. Bakx.
Confident in their lead, Zernoff's players relaxed and focused more on defending the lead than increasing it.
Some fine movement on the left led to a Zernoff goal after 59 minutes, making it 1 - 7.
B. Iuşcenco was noted down as the scorer.
Zernoff increased their lead after 70 minutes when
R. Krähenbühl broke through on the right, upping the score to 1 - 8, much to the home crowd's dismay.
After 71 minutes a combination in the middle resulted in a through ball for
J. Bakx who increased Zernoff's lead to 1 - 9.
The visitors added to their lead 81 minutes into the game, after a sensational penalty kick by Zernoff's
M. Caisîn slid just past the home keeper. 1 - 10.
Zernoff had most of the ball, with 86 percent of possession.
The most dominating Nistrului player was without a doubt
M. Gheţu.
V. Dobreanu was a disappointment, however.
Most important Zernoff player was
A. Kunnas.
On the other hand,
V. Dabija's play was disheartening.
