Racing 2 - 5 Sercox
(392521674)

21-06-2012 01.30
It was an exceptionally sunny day for the crowd of 27259 that came out to
El Cilindro De Avellaneda.
Arne Eberlein was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Narciso Sisa and
Cristoff Haiek.
Racing had chosen a strategic 4-5-1 formation.
The following players had been chosen: Shoburyu - Kiiski, Mikaelsson, Goorhuis, Ventre - Pauloff, Szynalski, Pracz, Ezcay, Baatrup - Degn.
Sercox decided to use a 3-5-2 set up.
The following players took the field: Riaza - Vidal Martínez, Hierro, Lambrecht - Ayram, Verrier, Revivo, Attanasio, Pérez - Dadalt, Mustajbašić.
Racing showed off their creative tactics.
The guests took the lead 13 minutes into the match, after a right-side attack resulted in
D. Revivo scoring to make it 0 - 1.
The corner kick from
L. Dadalt was powerfully met by the head of
D. Revivo to make the score 0 - 2.
Some fine movement on the left led to a Sercox goal after 32 minutes, making it 0 - 3.
P. Attanasio was noted down as the scorer.
After 40 minutes, an incisive pass through the middle gave
M. Ayram a chance to increase the lead for Sercox, and he did not disappoint. The score was then 0 - 4.
By now, the players in Sercox felt that victory was guaranteed and began to play it safe, focusing on defence and not risking too much going forward.
The teams went for the halftime break at 0 - 4.
Possession of the ball saw an equal split between the teams during the forty-five minutes.
The sunny day didn't make things easy for
O. Hierro who didn't seem his usual powerful self on the pitch.
57 minutes into the game Racing broke through on the left wing and
R. Ezcay managed to reduce the lead to 1 - 4.
A defender managed to keep the ball from crossing the goal-line after a curling shot coming in from the right from
L. Dadalt after 58 minutes, and prevented Sercox from going up another goal.
Racing were great at switching from defence to attack, and after 59 minutes,
T. Degn swept through the middle on a counterattack, making the score 2 - 4.
Having been awarded a free kick in an awkward position after 68 minutes, Sercox did not go for a shot but instead fired the ball hard into the 6 yard box. After a brief tussle with his marker,
J. Verrier was able to power the ball past the keeper to make the score 2 - 5.
Several players seemed a little dazed by the warm weather, and were repeatedly tricked by the clever and agile
J. Pauloff.
Neither team was controlling the possession at this point in the match, with the stats showing a 50:50 split.
Racing's top performer was clearly
L. Pracz.
G. Goorhuis turned in a dismal performance, however.
The most dominating Sercox player was without a doubt
S. Mustajbašić.
F. Pérez on the other hand, had a terrible day.
The match ends 2 - 5.
