previous 1/10 next 3/10  Tyrolean 5 - 1 Racccccccoooo (392530016)

The weather was pretty good, and a crowd of 641 had shown up at Andreas Hofer Stadion for the match. Jimmy Avnskjold was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Kaare Gundersen and Petri Harala. Tyrolean started off with a 4-4-2 lineup. The following players took the field: Meissl - Braghini, Zwicker, Piccardo, Flohe - Steiner, Croitoru, Blanxart, Brändle - Wieser, Bernát.

Racccccccoooo tactics involved an interesting 3-5-2 combination. Starters: Knasmüller - Fried, Schriebl, Reinisch - Fiechtl, Grohs, Auer, Machacek, Weber - Strobl, Stöger.

Racccccccoooo seemed to prefer attacking in the middle. After 2 minutes, A. Piccardo came in from the right, feinted, then sped past the off-balance defender to make the score 1 - 0, giving Tyrolean the lead. Things were deteriorating for the away team as Tyrolean scored another to make it 2 - 0 after a left side attack resulted in a goal for M. Wieser after 22 minutes. Tyrolean put themselves up 3 - 0 when R. Croitoru broke through on the right, leaving the entire defence trailing in his wake. The home crowd was silenced as M. Strobl took a successful penalty shot 34 minutes into the game, reducing the home lead to 3 - 1. Tyrolean's A. Piccardo left the field after 37 minutes because of a nasty blow to the shin. His replacement was S. Procopio. 3 - 1 was the score after the first half. Racccccccoooo enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 51 percent of possession.

H. Brändle wanted to play on, but the Tyrolean coach had other ideas, and he was replaced 46 minutes into the game by P. Višković. Content with how the game was proceeding, the Tyrolean coach let M. Omar replace G. Meissl after 50 minutes. M. Blanxart stunned the crowd with a brilliant counterattack from the left, giving Tyrolean the goal to make it 4 - 1. Confident in their lead, Tyrolean's players relaxed and focused more on defending the lead than increasing it. With 70 minutes played, Tyrolean put themselves up 5 - 1 when the visiting defenders lost the ball to A. Braghini, who came up from the left and proceeded to coolly round the keeper and knock the ball home. A free kick just outside of the visitors' penalty area after 73 minutes could have resulted in another goal, but R. Knasmüller got a hand out and tipped the ball over the bar. Possession in this half belonged to Tyrolean, who controlled the ball 53 percent of the time.

S. Procopio performed admirably for Tyrolean. M. Wieser was a disappointment, however. Racccccccoooo's best player was M. Strobl. E. Schriebl turned in a dismal performance, however. The match ends 5 - 1.
