The crowd of 1410 turning up at NIX ZU HOLEN ARENA today were greeted with some nasty showers of rain. Rob Ulfin was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Peer-Gunnar Giselher and Jarno de Roock. A 3-5-2 alignment was the formation of choice for Mcpainterdee. Elisanti had chosen a strategic 4-3-3 formation. The following players had been chosen: Giacoma - Di Pietro, Acquaroli, Geanã, Fini - Sangalli, Schönerlinde, Korsholm - Raillo, Fognani, Fasciolo.

C. Di Pietro had a good opportunity to give Elisanti the lead as he charged down the right and struck the ball towards the top corner, but the home team's goalkeeper made the save. Mcpainterdee's V. Fricken was shown a yellow card for standing over the ball and blocking an opponent's quick free kick after 38 minutes. It might be a while before the fans see Mcpainterdee's O. Bergzabern again, after he had to leave the field in great distress at the 42 minute mark. He was replaced by K. Osman. Mcpainterdee took the lead 43 minutes into the game by 1 - 0, as M. Dettmann elegantly received a long range pass through the middle, finishing off with a half-volley shot just below the bar. Mcpainterdee's D. Sanz Escribano was shown a yellow card after 44 minutes for slicing down an opponent. Mcpainterdee put themselves up 2 - 0 when A. Foi broke through on the right, leaving the entire defence trailing in his wake. Confident in their lead, Mcpainterdee's players relaxed and focused more on defending the lead than increasing it. Mcpainterdee's V. Fricken increased the lead to 3 - 0, after he saw his shot go between the legs of the advancing goalkeeper following some good play down the right wing after 44 minutes. N. Korsholm was uncomfortable with the soggy pitch as he couldn't move the ball around with his usual grace. A magnificent combination in the middle resulted in Mcpainterdee's R. Graf increasing the lead to 4 - 0. Halftime score was 4 - 0. Mcpainterdee enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 71 percent of possession.

Mcpainterdee's A. Foi swung in a good chance from the left, but the visitors' defence were able to clear the ball. After 50 minutes Mcpainterdee's A. Foi limped slightly after a late challenge, but he was able to continue. A. Foi could have put Mcpainterdee up one more, but he fired into the side netting after breaking free on the left after 63 minutes. C. Di Pietro, who often relies on his speed, had a rotten day on the drenched grass. M. Dettmann had a fantastic opportunity to put Mcpainterdee up another goal 72 minutes into the match, but he fired just over the crossbar. Mcpainterdee's J. Queral had an excellent opportunity after 78 minutes, shooting after receiving a pass from the right hand side, but he missed the goal by miles! A late sliding challenge from D. Sanz Escribano was deemed to be his second yellow card offence by the referee, resulting in him being sent off, and Mcpainterdee left a man down. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Mcpainterdee, with 69 percent of the ball.

Mcpainterdee's top performer was clearly R. Graf. M. Salvatore turned in a dismal performance, however. M. Raillo performed admirably for Elisanti. However, F. Sangalli made a disastrous appearance. The match ends 4 - 0.
