20-06-2012 18.05
960 spectators had found their way to
Old Trafford, despite the heavy rain.
Sören Hansson was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Lars Pedersen and
Henry Korsgård.
18Manchester tactics involved an interesting 4-4-2 combination.
They fielded: Rantama - 少祥 (Shaoxiang), Parlevliet, Angioni, Ciężka - Wierdak, Brzezina, Marone, Jakuralde - Metsma, Chutny.
Neppew had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation.
The following players took the field: Mäenaho - Cavallo, Benedetto, Revshøj - Peppoloni, Scardigli, Canarini, Fiscarelli, Petralia - Dimitrov, Paiva.
18Manchester used their ability to concentrate their attacks in the middle of the pitch, rather than on the wings.
Neppew took the lead after 27 minutes making the score 0 - 1.
G. Petralia placed the ball out of reach for the home side's keeper after a fine move, coming in from the left.
Neppew increased their lead after 34 minutes when
S. Fiscarelli broke through on the right, upping the score to 0 - 2, much to the home crowd's dismay.
The players of Neppew now seemed to think the job was done and acted more defensively, just waiting for the ref to blow the final whistle.
C. Peppoloni was struggling to make the ball dance with his usual trickery and panache, and the opposing players had little trouble shutting him down in these muddy conditions.
18Manchester had to make a substitution after 39 minutes.
J. Rantama limped off the field and was replaced by
D. Chlasta.
Neppew's
G. Petralia made it through the home team's defence on the right hand side 42 minutes into the match. After rounding the keeper, he only had to place the ball in the unguarded goal when a defender slid in and cleared the ball off the line.
After several obvious shirt pulling incidents,
G. Scardigli got himself booked. The manager of Neppew was not happy.
It was 0 - 2 at the break.
Neppew claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 68 percent.
After 54 minutes,
J. Wierdak had a good opportunity to reduce the scoreline for 18Manchester with a chance created through the middle, but wasn't cool enough. The ball went miles over the bar.
Some fine movement on the left led to a Neppew goal after 56 minutes, making it 0 - 3.
G. Petralia was noted down as the scorer.
When
G. Scardigli made yet another studs-first tackle after 62 minutes, the referee was obliged to book the Neppew player for the second time, sending him off the pitch.
A. Brzezina of 18Manchester had to be helped off the pitch as an injury meant he was unable to finish the game.
M. Fabbricini came in to finish the match.
18Manchester mounted an inspired counterattack down the right wing after 69 minutes, but
谭. 少祥 (Shaoxiang) was unable to convert from short range.
M. Fabbricini didn't let the weather get him down and made some great moves on the pitch in spite of the rain.
Neppew had most of the ball, with 60 percent of possession.
Most important 18Manchester player was
W. Chutny.
On the other hand,
D. Chlasta's play was disheartening.
C. Canarini performed admirably for Neppew.
However,
M. Mäenaho made a disastrous appearance.
The match ends 0 - 3.
