The weather was pretty good, and a crowd of 34994 had shown up at
Bayern Arena for the match.

J. Briechle did everything he could to get one back for his Bayern, but keeper
F. Zottino denied him with a spectacular block.
With 31 minutes played,
B. Prelazzi nearly put the visitors another one up as he broke through in the middle and fired from just outside the box, but his shot passed just over the bar.
B. Albani of Hummel-Hummel received a yellow card after 35 minutes for unsportsmanlike behaviour.
With 39 minutes played,
F. Wethmann was very close to reducing the score for Bayern with a low drive from the left, but a defender stuck his foot out just in the nick of time, blocking the shot to a corner.
0 - 2 was the halftime score.
Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Bayern, with 51 percent of the ball.
61 minutes into the game a free kick by
T. Gerdhall found its way through the home side's poorly assembled defensive formation, making Hummel-Hummel's lead 0 - 3.
Content with how the game was proceeding, the Hummel-Hummel coach let
G. Cuccillato replace

At this point, it was obvious that the players of Hummel-Hummel lowered the tempo and became more defensively oriented.
Bayern's
J. Kreiller found himself alone on the left side 65 minutes into the match and laid down a perfect shot - right into the arms of the keeper!
J. Kombächer charged down the left and looked sure to score for Bayern 76 minutes into the game, but his shot went just wide.
Hummel-Hummel almost scored after a counterattack 81 minutes into the match, but
S. Decke took a shot from the left that landed harmlessly in the side of the net.
Hummel-Hummel's
E. Corvaglia was dominating his wing and kept sending fine balls into the opposition's box -
B. Prelazzi managed to volley one of them into the net to make it 0 - 4 after 82 minutes.
After 83 minutes,
J. Kreiller had a good opportunity to reduce the scoreline for Bayern with a chance created through the middle, but wasn't cool enough. The ball went miles over the bar.
With 84 minutes played,
J. Kombächer of Bayern fell dramatically just outside the penalty area. However, the referee was unimpressed, and booked him for diving.
Bayern had most of the ball, with 55 percent of possession.
Bayern's top performer was clearly
J. Krupke.
O. Amato on the other hand, had a terrible day.
J. Siebels performed admirably for Hummel-Hummel.
G. Cuccillato was a disappointment, however.
