Clouds darkened the skies at Kertalja utcai stadion as 38387 spectators turned up for the match. It was obvious that Debrődiek were using their pressing skill as their primary tactic. F.C. were relying on their ability to counter-attack. The pressing tactics used by Debrődiek were successful as the ball remained close to the half way line at all times. Debrődiek had a good opportunity to take the lead as A. Metsätie came up the left side, but he struck the ball weakly and it went straight into the arms of M. Para. F.C.'s defence sent a ball soaring up the middle on a beautiful counterattack with 15 minutes gone, but B. Malković's finish was met by the reaching hands of the keeper. Some things can only be learned through experience, and G. Ovečka should take his lesson to heart after nearly gifting F.C. a goal with 22 minutes of the match played. Good work by the F.C. defensive line after 37 minutes produced a good counterattack chance, which cut elegantly down the middle of the pitch and found M. Párnický alone in front of the goal, but his shot whistled just wide. The teams went for the halftime break at 0 - 0. Debrődiek had most of the ball, with 63 percent of possession.

Debrődiek were awarded a penalty after 55 minutes of play, but G. Foldager's shot skimmed just wide. I. Muhtar would have preferred to play on, but his coach decided otherwise. T. Brenker entered the game for Debrődiek as the match clock showed 60 minutes. With 61 minutes gone, a long pass from the defence of F.C. resulted in a counterattack that set A. Wąsak free through the middle, but the keeper made a spectacular diving save. F.C. had to make a substitution after 71 minutes. J. Trojanovský limped off the field and was replaced by J. Purs. After 76 minutes Debrődiek's I. Gregor had to be carried off on a stretcher in agony. F. Iazzetta came in to replace him. R. Soto Campo was the new captain of Debrődiek - handed the armband by the departing player. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Debrődiek, with 59 percent of the ball.

As neither team was able to break the deadlock before the end of regular play, the teams took to the field again for extra time. Z. Vilikovský was called on to replace F.C.'s S. Debrődiek's G. Foldager kept his cool as he faced down M. Para. His composure paid off as he scored easily for 1 - 0. F.C.'s M. Para was relaxed as he smoothly put the ball in the net. 1 - 1! Oooh - how unlucky! Debrődiek's G. Duyndam attempt hit the underside of the bar, but rebounded down into the grateful arms of M. Para. The score stays 1 - 1. F.C.'s B. Malković coolly put the ball past G. Zumbo. 1 - 2. Debrődiek's A. Metsätie didn't hesitate but M. Para managed the save, resulting in an unchanged 1 - 2 score. F.C.'s R. Galáž showed he has nerves of steel when it comes to penalties, easily changing the score to 1 - 3. Debrődiek's G. Zumbo penalty shot was very well placed but M. Para went the right way, blocking it spectacularly. The score was still 1 - 3. F.C.'s A. Lourenço made no mistake. G. Zumbo didn't have a chance. 1 - 4. A confident G. Toledo of Debrődiek put the ball right where he wanted, but M. Para was right there for the save. No goal. F.C.'s V. Kubelka was relaxed as he smoothly put the ball in the net. 1 - 5! Debrődiek's top performer was clearly G. Ovečka. G. Toledo was a disappointment, however. The most dominating F.C. player was without a doubt V. Kubelka. On the other hand, Z. Vilikovský's play was disheartening. The match ends 1 - 5.
