previous 2/4 next 4/4  Winners 3 - 2 Topol (392604619)

Clouds darkened the skies at Najlonke as 22250 spectators turned up for the match. Miroslav Vavrík was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Ulrik Lagerner and Carlos Timoteo Fojo. A 4-4-2 alignment was the formation of choice for Winners. Starters: Cerchiari - Sunay, Edrevski, Schöpf, Schneiderman - Meibom, Liebers, 育达 (Yuda), Nunes Soares - Vrabl, Savić.

Topol decided to use a 3-4-3 set up. They fielded: Barros - Ruiz Girón, Bernbratt, Zlatić - Claas, Turščak, Brezovnik, Rovenkamp - Sernc, Čuk, Oelschläger.

Winners fans held their breath as J. Nunes Soares scampered down the left side. He successfully avoided all challenges and cracked home the shot for 1 - 0! Topol tied it all up, 29 minutes in, after a spectacular goal by A. Bernbratt, who miraculously broke through the home side's central defence, making it 1 - 1. Topol had several good opportunities to take the lead, especially 32 minutes in when O. Oelschläger came up alone against F. Cerchiari who managed a block. The cannonball from 35 metres by B. Brezovnik of Topol was an impressive sight, but didn't make it into the net. The teams went for the halftime break at 1 - 1. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Topol, with 62 percent of the ball.

This was a good period for the visitors, with several opportunities to take the lead, particularly when A. Čuk slipped through the defence on the right to come up alone against F. Cerchiari, but the home side's keeper showed his lightning reflexes. 63 minutes into the game, J. Nunes Soares had to leave the pitch due to a knee injury. In came D. Brezovec. The head of A. Čuk connected with a corner kick after 67 minutes, and the ball ended up with A. Bernbratt of Topol who blasted the ball into the net, making the score 1 - 2. Winners's M. Savić put his head to a well placed ball, lifted in from the left, and scored to make the score 2 - 2 with 74 minutes showing on the scoreboard clock. Topol had most of the ball, with 60 percent of possession.

As neither team was able to break the deadlock before the end of regular play, the teams took to the field again for extra time. The visitors' central defence should have had no trouble clearing the pass to S. Schöpf, but the Winners player managed to shrug them off and fired a low shot past the keeper to give his team the lead. 3 - 2! Extra time over, Winners were the victors! Most important Winners player was M. Savić. On the other hand, D. Brezovec's play was disheartening. The most dominating Topol player was without a doubt B. Brezovnik. However, A. Bernbratt made a disastrous appearance. The match ends 3 - 2.
