previous 6/10 next 8/10  riksu 1 - 3 Metsku (392605892)

Due to an all-day shower, 26493 paying spectators got to see a match on a pitch-turned-bog at riksuland. Borisa Cilinsek was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Lev Minenko and Ezequiel Vázquez. riksu had chosen a strategic 4-4-2 formation. The following players had been chosen: Yankov - Caticura, Petrov, Janković, Vassura - Kajander, Martensen, Tomasino, Piskorski - Zappa, Giang.

Metsku started off with a 3-5-2 lineup. The following players took the field: Paappanen - Galeş, Lemasle, Koblenz - Dementsov, Krause, Eldad, Saville, Semeniuc - Formica, Leguizamón.

riksu were relying on their ability to counter-attack. The boggy pitch disrupted the game, especially for technical players like J. Leguizamón. E. Zappa hit the corner kick straight to the keeper, but it was mishandled, giving riksu's K. Giang an easy chance to knock it in for 1 - 0. The visitors' M. Koblenz was alert after a cross coming in from the left, levelling the score at 1 - 1 after 32 minutes. M. Koblenz sailed high above the opponents as he headed in a corner kick from S. Saville after 33 minutes of play, making the score 1 - 2. J. Caticura was just a finger's breadth away from an equaliser for riksu with a strike from the left, but K. Paappanen managed to ward the shot off for a corner. 37 minutes into the game Metsku managed a counterattack, but K. Krause took a soft shot from the left flank that was easy prey for the alert keeper. 1 - 2 was the score after the first half. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Metsku, with 57 percent of the ball.

After 65 minutes, riksu used a short break in the game to take new instructions from their coach. Although the whole team were struggling to impress, riksu's L. Tomasino was singled out as being the problem as he was called off the pitch after 74 minutes. G. Deriu was given a chance to change things around. The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave E. Zappa from riksu a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 76 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient! Metsku increased their lead after 79 minutes when O. Eldad broke through on the right, upping the score to 1 - 3, much to the home crowd's dismay. Metsku enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 53 percent of possession.

riksu's best player was R. Martensen. T. Yankov on the other hand, had a terrible day. The most dominating Metsku player was without a doubt A. Formica. On the other hand, K. Paappanen's play was disheartening. The match ends 1 - 3.
