(392606520)

26-06-2012 20.00
Due to an all-day shower, 21380 paying spectators got to see a match on a pitch-turned-bog at
KelPS Arena.
Rüdiger Tremskamp was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Yair Shaharabani and
Curtis Allison.
KelPS decided to use a 3-4-3 set up.
Starters: Larikka - Asell, Leimola, Jaara - Parciak, Moise, Wurzen, Klemola - Mikkola, Rapakko, Kitunen.
A 4-5-1 alignment was the formation of choice for Tikka.
Lineup: Raihl - Casucci, Salminen, Kaikkonen, Scutiero - Sirola, Griffioen, Kahler, Brucan, Wisur - Grande.
Tikka were mostly trying to use their skill at attacking on the flanks.
A foul after 9 minutes resulted in a free kick.
S. Mikkola cannonballed it, giving the home team the lead 1 - 0.
A. Salminen finished off a quick charge from the left of the field by chipping the ball just past the home side's keeper, making the score 1 - 1 10 minutes into the match.
E. Rapakko had a hard time on the waterlogged pitch - his trademark technique was nowhere in sight today.
KelPS's
M. Parciak placed the ball right at his teammate's feet after a corner, but
E. Rapakko couldn't finish.
Some great play up the middle by KelPS led to a chance for
K. Leimola to score after 42 minutes, but the shot hit the crossbar.
The teams went for the halftime break at 1 - 1.
Possession of the ball saw an equal split between the teams during the forty-five minutes.
Slack defending gave KelPS a chance to take the lead with 55 minutes played, but
S. Mikkola's cross from the left flank was fumbled in front of the goal and easily dealt with by the opposition.
E. Kitunen caused the crowd to go mental with his goal up the middle after 72 minutes. This gave KelPS the 2 - 1 lead.
With 73 minutes played, seemingly due to lack of experience,
R. Wurzen needlessly tripped an opponent just outside the penalty area, but the free kick that followed didn't succeed.
KelPS's
E. Rapakko saw his fine effort strike the top of the bar following some good work up the middle by his teammates after 74 minutes.
Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by KelPS, with 51 percent of the ball.
Most important KelPS player was
S. Mikkola.
V. Moise on the other hand, had a terrible day.
Tikka's top performer was clearly
A. Wisur.
However,
K. Sirola made a disastrous appearance.
The match ends 2 - 1.
