It was an obvious ambition of Gummi to use their ability at attacking on the flanks. Devonshire were very close to putting themselves one up after 20 minutes as K. Kowalski got through on the left, but failing in concentration, he shot the ball wide. Thighs bulging, A. Lacerda charged past the weaker players, seemingly oblivious to the rain. This was a good period for the visitors, with several opportunities to take the lead, particularly when C. Perchet slipped through the defence on the right to come up alone against D. Danilović, but the home side's keeper showed his lightning reflexes. 31 minutes into the game, B. Sowatee finished off a Devonshire left wing counterattack, making the score 1 - 0. Things were deteriorating for the away team as Devonshire scored another to make it 2 - 0 after a left side attack resulted in a goal for O. Evanics after 35 minutes. Coming from the right, M. Wiesen almost managed to score another goal for Devonshire, but his header was tipped over the bar by the visitors' keeper. 2 - 0 was the halftime score. Devonshire enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 60 percent of possession.

The coach of Devonshire was happy with the game so far, but still wanted to change the line up. After 60 minutes, A. Reid came on for M. Freeman. After 60 minutes, a couple of quick and successful challenges followed by a shot from just outside the penalty area by I. Erwens might have resulted in another goal for Devonshire. However, H. Percudani made a spectacular save. The home side's M. Wiesen came close to extending the lead 61 minutes into the game. His shot came in from the right hand side but H. Percudani managed to save it with an unbelievable reaction stop. A free kick just outside of the visitors' penalty area after 65 minutes could have resulted in another goal, but H. Percudani got a hand out and tipped the ball over the bar. Devonshire's K. Kowalski had an excellent opportunity after 68 minutes, shooting after receiving a pass from the right hand side, but he missed the goal by miles! In the lead, Devonshire adjusted their style of play with 70 minutes gone. In an effort to secure the lead, Devonshire changed their tactic after 70 minutes. 73 minutes into the match, the visitors reduced the lead to 2 - 1 as a free kick by M. Townsende slunk past the home side's goalkeeper. A. Reid of Devonshire was booked for kicking the ball away after the whistle. Possession in this half belonged to Devonshire, who controlled the ball 62 percent of the time.

Devonshire's top performer was clearly B. Sowatee. However, A. Reid made a disastrous appearance. Gummi's best player was M. Townsende. On the other hand, G. Eichin's play was disheartening. The match ends 2 - 1.
