A brilliantly sunny day had enticed a crowd of 20501 to The Budweiser Stadium. Hans ''Liffas'' Bladlind was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Dylan Cailler and Morten Sævik. Byte had chosen a strategic 3-4-3 formation. The following players had been chosen: Şirinov - Gith, Batten, Shalit - Reeves, Buta, Pets, Beccalossi - Goodie, Crowter, Barnard.

A 3-5-2 alignment was the formation of choice for richbunited. They fielded: Polzer - Péron, Mari, Eeckhout - Posset, Mallin, Alonso, Sandøy, Hänse - Kiiskilä, Pereira.

Byte were relying on their ability to counter-attack. richbunited tried to focus their attacks down the middle. They were singing the praises of S. Pets 25 minutes into the match after his speculative chip from the middle of the penalty box found its way over the visitors' keeper to make the score 1 - 0 to Byte. After 27 minutes, the away team failed to deal with a good exchange of passes on the right, and B. Barnard gave the Byte supporters even more to cheer about when he increased the lead to 2 - 0. The visitors replied 28 minutes into the game, reducing the home side's lead to 2 - 1, as R. Alonso dashed up the middle, easily lobbing the ball over the home team's keeper. richbunited tied it all up, 34 minutes in, after a spectacular goal by B. Sandøy, who miraculously broke through the home side's central defence, making it 2 - 2. The visitors' central defence should have had no trouble clearing the pass to J. Goodie, but the Byte player managed to shrug them off and fired a low shot past the keeper to give his team the lead. 3 - 2! Halftime score was 3 - 2. Byte had most of the ball, with 55 percent of possession.

With 47 minutes played, Byte's J. Goodie almost extended the lead, but his shot from the left glanced off the top of the bar to fall behind the net. É. Pereira found it hard to catch his breath today in the stifling heat. The bench was restless, and with 60 minutes passed richbunited's coach gave H. Strobl the opportunity the player had been hoping for. A. Mallin reluctantly left the field. Cheers filled the stadium as G. Beccalossi broke through the visitors' central defence to put away the ball to increase the lead to 4 - 2 to Byte. Byte solidified their lead at the 66 minute mark, as J. Goodie dribbled the ball through the opposing central defence and scored to make it 5 - 2. richbunited's A. Posset had seen it all before, so he waited patiently for the right opportunity. He would get no better chance than the one he took, but his shot was deftly blocked by the keeper. A. Posset had a couple of good opportunities to reply, but the home team's keeper A. Şirinov was simply unbeatable. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Byte, with 52 percent of the ball.

Byte's top performer was clearly J. Goodie. W. Reeves turned in a dismal performance, however. M. Hänse performed admirably for richbunited. However, B. Sandøy made a disastrous appearance. The match ends 5 - 2.
