Norick 3 - 2 Karczów (392685722)

The weather was pretty good, and a crowd of 36309 had shown up at Norick Arena for the match. József Kiprich was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Meine van Meel and Stephan Krüger. Norick tactics involved an interesting 3-5-2 combination. The following players took the field: Méndez Ortiz - Marchand, Wypych, Olichwier - Zebrzydło, Prokopp, Zürrer, Cyranowicz, Lungu - Zamkevich, Graça Gomes.

Karczów decided to use a 3-5-2 set up. The following players had been chosen: Guedes - Guéguen, Izzami, Stana - Kuchar, Frostad, Pulga, Pławski, Wilmański - Dorrego, Ādminis.

The wings were the focus of most of Karczów's attacks today. 11 minutes into the game, D. Kuchar almost gave the visitors the lead, as he clipped a delicate lob over the keeper, but the ball glanced harmlessly off the crossbar. Norick took the lead, 1 - 0, after a penalty 12 minutes into the match. C. Lungu scored from the penalty spot. A great save by keeper L. Guedes after 13 minutes kept the visitors in the game after T. Zürrer struck from the left with a real cannonball. A cross coming in on the right hand side left J. Ādminis alone in front of the goal after 20 minutes but his shot was woeful. C. Iwańczuk was called on to replace Norick's J. Olichwier after 23 minutes following a nasty collision. A lot of people in the terraces claimed the penalty resulting in Karczów's D. Pulga equaliser for 1 - 1 was a mistake by the referee. He did, however, have a very good view of the situation from his position. It was 1 - 1 at the break. Norick claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 59 percent.

A questionable penalty 65 minutes in gave the home side the lead, 2 - 1. The visitors' goalie didn't stand a chance as C. Lungu knocked the ball home. After 70 minutes, Norick's C. Lungu found the back of the goal with a beautiful free kick. 3 - 1. At that, C. Lungu was noted down for a hat trick! The cannonball from 35 metres by C. Iwańczuk of Norick was an impressive sight, but didn't make it into the net. Norick's I. Zamkevich left the field after 73 minutes because of a nasty blow to the shin. His replacement was F. Pekas. With 74 minutes gone, Norick had a free kick in a decent position. Despite this being a great chance for a shot, they tried a cheeky move intended to bypass the defence. However, F. Pekas did not manage to connect with it cleanly and the ball went out. The goal to make it 3 - 2 was scored by J. Ādminis after 75 minutes, following an opportunistic counterattack down the middle by Karczów. Norick's R. Graça Gomes got himself booked for a foul. G. Dorrego's knee will be throbbing for days, but thankfully for Karczów, he bravely continued in the match. B. Zebrzydło's tried to storm through the defence after 81 minutes, but D. Stana was just too fast to shake off and the rest of the defence got back to cover. After 83 minutes, a couple of quick and successful challenges followed by a shot from just outside the penalty area by D. Marchand might have resulted in another goal for Norick. However, L. Guedes made a spectacular save. F. Pekas had a fantastic opportunity to put Norick up another goal 84 minutes into the match, but he fired just over the crossbar. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Norick, with 59 percent of the ball.

Norick's best player was T. Zürrer. C. Iwańczuk was a disappointment, however. G. Dorrego performed admirably for Karczów. On the other hand, A. Izzami's play was disheartening. The match ends 3 - 2.
