FCM 3 - 4 Bakerkings (392686698)

Fairly good weather for football had drawn a crowd of 45146 to Skärsjövallen. Filip Håkansson was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Thommas Grøn Nielsen and Tuncay Reijnaert. FCM decided to use a 3-5-2 set up. Starters: Pârvulescu - Gridis, Yecora, Kokott - Matinheikki, Bellantone, Seding, Hökborg, Kirchmair - Reus, Cleiderman.

Bakerkings tactics involved an interesting 3-4-3 combination. They fielded: Rodríguez Villegas - Dos Santos, Killund, Terradellas - Westererberg, Persson, Sahlbom, San Martín - De Grande, Onursay, Frasson.

The wings were the focus of most of FCM's attacks today. After 15 minutes, K. Seding came in from the right, feinted, then sped past the off-balance defender to make the score 1 - 0, giving FCM the lead. FCM put themselves up 2 - 0 when V. Reus broke through on the right, leaving the entire defence trailing in his wake. FCM had to make a substitution after 32 minutes. R. Hökborg limped off the field and was replaced by A. Abdalla. After 36 minutes, A. Persson sent the corner kick right to N. Frasson who headed it sharply past the keeper. 2 - 1! N. Frasson made a good effort at breaking through on the right, but the home team's left defence cleared the ball to a corner. Halftime score was 2 - 1. Possession in this half belonged to Bakerkings, who controlled the ball 53 percent of the time.

Although the whole team were struggling to impress, Bakerkings's F. Rodríguez Villegas was singled out as being the problem as he was called off the pitch after 46 minutes. J. Murawka was given a chance to change things around. After 46 minutes, Bakerkings switched T. Dos Santos with U. Falkenlius, hoping for a quick impact on the pitch. J. De Grande was the first to reach the corner kick, but his header was blocked by the keeper. However, Bakerkings's J. Westererberg managed to get hold of the rebound and tucked the ball into the empty net. 2 - 2 50 minutes into the game, Bakerkings wanted to bring some new energy to their game. J. San Martín gave M. Božinovski a quick hug as he left the field. FCM had a good opportunity to attack in the middle, but remembered their instructions to focus on wing attacks instead. After some beautiful movement down the left wing, M. Bellantone scored for FCM putting them ahead 3 - 2, after 69 minutes. The visitors' F. Onursay was alert after a cross coming in from the left, levelling the score at 3 - 3 after 77 minutes. Bakerkings's N. Frasson was shown a yellow card for standing over the ball and blocking an opponent's quick free kick after 78 minutes. Bakerkings had most of the ball, with 56 percent of possession.

As neither team was able to break the deadlock before the end of regular play, the teams took to the field again for extra time. M. Božinovski fired a shot from distance after 92 minutes, but the long shot couldn't find the net for Bakerkings. J. De Grande's speed is always a threat when he gets a little room to move, and 95 minutes into the match was no different as he broke free of his man to send a delightful through ball to N. Frasson who knocked it in for Bakerkings. 3 - 4! Game over, Bakerkings win! Most important FCM player was M. Bellantone. T. Gridis was a disappointment, however. Bakerkings's best player was A. Persson. F. Onursay on the other hand, had a terrible day. The match ends 3 - 4.
