previous 6/10 next 8/10  Rzeszów 8 - 0 Invincibiles (392696656)

Dark skies made the crowd of 790 at Rzeszów Arena a little nervous, but the rain held off. Hendrick Kamerling was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Nissan Levin and Wienand de Lieme. Rzeszów tactics involved an interesting 4-4-2 combination. They fielded: Pyrak - Hökbo, Roscio, Öncübey, Tantucci - Oberc, Hannonen, Yver, Carrieri - Panke, Pedersen.

Invincibiles started off with a 3-5-1 lineup. The following players had been chosen: Czerwień - Bera, Bukowski, Bożęcki - Krzyżański, Sáez Adán, Ambrosino, Taubmann, Staszczyk - Gorzela.

Today, Rzeszów's strategy involved concentrating on the flanks for their attacks. Rzeszów took the lead 14 minutes in, as G. Tantucci broke through on the left and put the 1 - 0 shot just beyond the reach of the outstretched keeper. Players in Rzeszów heard their coach's words ringing in their ears and steered their central attacks to the wings instead. Rzeszów managed to extend their lead to 2 - 0 when P. Hannonen cut in neatly from the left side and struck a fine shot past the away team's goalkeeper. After 30 minutes, there was a bit of a mixup on the field as Invincibiles found themselves out of position and their organisation level dropped to inadequate. After 37 minutes, the away team failed to deal with a good exchange of passes on the right, and S. Yver gave the Rzeszów supporters even more to cheer about when he increased the lead to 3 - 0. With 42 minutes played, Rzeszów put themselves up 4 - 0 when the visiting defenders lost the ball to W. Oberc, who came up from the left and proceeded to coolly round the keeper and knock the ball home. The players of Rzeszów now seemed to think the job was done and acted more defensively, just waiting for the ref to blow the final whistle. When W. Bukowski was badly injured by a couple of strong tackles after 43 minutes, Invincibiles fans were unhappy to discover that it was not possible to make a substitution. Things were deteriorating for the away team as Rzeszów scored another to make it 5 - 0 after a left side attack resulted in a goal for A. Carrieri after 44 minutes. It was 5 - 0 at the break. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Rzeszów, with 66 percent of the ball.

The coach gave his players an extra tactical briefing during the break, and after that Invincibiles had solid organisation. 76 minutes into the game, Invincibiles seemed a little tentative in their play as their organization fell to weak. After a short break after 80 minutes, Rzeszów seemed to change their tactical approach a bit. The Rzeszów players could smell victory in the air. S. Yver wasn't in a hurry to leave the field as he was substituted for D. Dereń after 80 minutes. Rzeszów's K. Pedersen had an excellent opportunity after 80 minutes, shooting after receiving a pass from the right hand side, but he missed the goal by miles! 83 minutes in, Rzeszów's K. Pedersen received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first. A magnificent combination in the middle resulted in Rzeszów's W. Oberc increasing the lead to 6 - 0. Rzeszów increased the lead as D. Dereń struck to make the score 7 - 0 after an attack from the left left him unmarked in front of the keeper. J. Hökbo's lack of experience almost gave Invincibiles a goal after 88 minutes, but the shot went right into the keeper's arms. Things were going to get worse for the visitors. P. Hannonen squirmed through their central defence after 88 minutes, increasing the lead to 8 - 0. Invincibiles had no available replacements when L. Ambrosino had to leave the game after 89 minutes because of a pulled tendon, leaving the team a man short. Rzeszów enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 69 percent of possession.

Most important Rzeszów player was G. Tantucci. S. Roscio on the other hand, had a terrible day. The most dominating Invincibiles player was without a doubt D. Taubmann. W. Staszczyk turned in a dismal performance, however. The match ends 8 - 0.
