Clear skies welcomed the 1110 spectators who had made their way to The Foundry. Sergio Beñat was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Guillermo Bezombe and Péter Légrádi. A 5-3-2 alignment was the formation of choice for Ironworks. The following players took the field: Reed - Golding, Colesby, Campbell, Keene, Pamic - Clarke, Brocklehurst, Broyce - Gibbs, Kelly.

Stanziale started off with a 3-5-2 lineup. They fielded: Fonte Santos - Miller, Haeussler, Vandaele - Pepino, Lawrence, Edwards, Storms, Cupitò - Oskroba, Toft.

Ironworks took a creative approach on the field. Stanziale took the lead after 6 minutes making the score 0 - 1. F. Storms placed the ball out of reach for the home side's keeper after a fine move, coming in from the left. D. Cupitò managed to make an excellent pass from the flank, but S. Pepino was not as skillfull in scoring. With 30 minutes played, seemingly due to lack of experience, F. Storms needlessly tripped an opponent just outside the penalty area, but the free kick that followed didn't succeed. D. Cupitò received a delicate pass through the home side's central defence after 35 minutes, and chipped it past the flailing keeper to score making it 0 - 2. The Stanziale fans went wild, whilst the home fans started to think about leaving early. With 40 minutes played, W. Oskroba nearly put the visitors another one up as he broke through in the middle and fired from just outside the box, but his shot passed just over the bar. It was 0 - 2 at the break. Stanziale claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 58 percent.

Content with how the game was proceeding, the Stanziale coach let E. Skinner replace L. Fonte Santos after 46 minutes. Although the whole team were struggling to impress, Ironworks's A. Pamic was singled out as being the problem as he was called off the pitch after 60 minutes. C. Lewis was given a chance to change things around. With 60 minutes played, the Ironworks coach decided a substitution may help turn the game around. C. Kooper came on, F. Colesby had to leave the fray. The bench was restless, and with 60 minutes passed Ironworks's coach gave W. Herbert the opportunity the player had been hoping for. M. Kelly reluctantly left the field. H. Miller came close to extending the visitors' lead when he found himself completely unmarked in front of the goal after a pass through the middle. He tried to lift the ball over R. Reed but overcooked it and hit the bar instead. Ironworks's C. Campbell was shown a yellow card for standing over the ball and blocking an opponent's quick free kick after 63 minutes. With 78 minutes gone, Ironworks's C. Campbell had to leave the pitch after talking back to the referee and receiving his second booking. After 79 minutes F. Broyce could have reduced the lead with a blistering strike from the left wing, had it not been for an excellent block by the visitors' keeper. A drive down the left side allowed F. Toft to get in close and score another goal for Stanziale after 81 minutes, taking the score to 0 - 3. At this point, it was obvious that the players of Stanziale lowered the tempo and became more defensively oriented. With 83 minutes played, W. Herbert of Ironworks fell dramatically just outside the penalty area. However, the referee was unimpressed, and booked him for diving. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Stanziale, with 57 percent of the ball.

The most dominating Ironworks player was without a doubt M. Gibbs. C. Brocklehurst was a disappointment, however. Stanziale's top performer was clearly J. Vandaele. A. Edwards on the other hand, had a terrible day. The match ends 0 - 3.
