Overcast weather free of rain made for a crowd turnout of 1233 at GC Christnach today. Rolf Reseberg was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Dieter Öztürk and Nicolai Sundstrøm. Greenfighters started off with a 5-4-1 lineup. Starters: Palacios - Brink, Przewrocki, Lukov, Lauriol, Samuel - Bouquet, Paillot, Franck, Breden - Uhres.

Torlos had chosen a strategic 4-4-2 formation. The following players took the field: Ehlert - Delling, Bayerl, Strengell, Kürzinger - Eksner, Hiesserich, Giaccardi, Faure - Ergüder, Brillante.

After the game, the most discussed event will probably be the penalty given after 3 minutes that gave the visitors the 0 - 1 lead. Despite the controversy, L. Brillante struck home the penalty, as cool as anything. 8 minutes into the game, Torlos had difficulty finding their positions and their organisation dropped to weak. Greenfighters's K. Bouquet made a successful breakthrough on the left after 24 minutes and should have levelled the score, but instead he clipped it over the bar. Due to some great work on the right wing Greenfighters's I. Lukov was able to even the score after 31 minutes to make the score 1 - 1. Greenfighters's R. Przewrocki got himself booked for a foul. 1 - 1 was the score after the first half. Possession in this half belonged to Torlos, who controlled the ball 55 percent of the time.

During the break, Torlos's coach went through the team's tactics yet again, getting them up to passable organisation. M. Giaccardi of Torlos seemed to be floating in the air as he elegantly headed in to make the score 1 - 2 after a corner kick that was nicely executed by L. Brillante. S. Ergüder wanted to play on, but the Torlos coach had other ideas, and he was replaced 60 minutes into the game by R. Glapa. Content with how the game was proceeding, the Torlos coach let P. Santizo replace M. Giaccardi after 66 minutes. With 73 minutes played, R. Glapa nearly put the visitors another one up as he broke through in the middle and fired from just outside the box, but his shot passed just over the bar. With the clock showing 74 minutes played, a great pass from the defensive line of Greenfighters resulted in a counterattack that was smoothly brought under control by J. Paillot in the centre of the opposition's penalty area, but his finish went high. Greenfighters put pressure on the visitors' central defence 80 minutes into the game, but G. Lauriol couldn't find an opening. The visitors' J. Eksner took advantage of a misunderstanding between the home side's goalie and centre backs 83 minutes into the match. 1 - 3 for Torlos. H. Palacios got a fingertip on P. Santizo's shot from the left 87 minutes in, and managed to keep the visitors from going up another goal. 89 minutes into the game, M. Breden had to leave the pitch due to a knee injury. In came K. Duarte. R. Glapa came close to extending the visitors' lead when he found himself completely unmarked in front of the goal after a pass through the middle. He tried to lift the ball over H. Palacios but overcooked it and hit the bar instead. After 89 minutes, there was a bit of a mixup on the field as Torlos found themselves out of position and their organisation level dropped to weak. Some things can only be learned through experience, and S. Bayerl should take his lesson to heart after nearly gifting Greenfighters a goal with 89 minutes of the match played. Torlos's E. Strengell was shown a yellow card after 89 minutes for slicing down an opponent. Torlos had most of the ball, with 66 percent of possession.

Greenfighters's top performer was clearly T. Uhres. T. Brink on the other hand, had a terrible day. Torlos's best player was R. Glapa. E. Delling turned in a dismal performance, however. The match ends 1 - 3.
