Weather conditions were fairly good for football, and
Broumský plácek saw a crowd turnout of 2087.
Salif Sene was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Franck Protais and
Albert Bogáč.
Broumy had chosen a strategic 3-4-3 formation.
Starters: Woźniak - Hoverbeck, Zepeda, Aldescu - Tisoň, Mikšátko, Pedersen, Bulíř - Böswirth, Ocampo, Törnvall.
Hawk tactics involved an interesting 2-5-3 combination.
The following players had been chosen: Nicolajsen - Højsgaard, Husum - Basse, Perić, Afasias, Thomasberg, Aske - Lau, Abrahamsen, Bjelke.
16 minutes of the match played, and a comedy of errors by the home side gave the visitors a chance at the lead, but
D. Thomasberg, after finding himself dashing down on goal from the left with only the keeper to beat, sliced his shot horribly wide.
After 21 minutes, Hawk's
M. Abrahamsen made his way through the middle and nonchalantly placed the ball out of the keeper's reach, putting the visitors up 0 - 1.
The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave
N. Zepeda from Broumy a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 22 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient!
After 27 minutes, an incisive pass through the middle gave
I. Bjelke a chance to increase the lead for Hawk, and he did not disappoint. The score was then 0 - 2.
With 29 minutes played, a quick exchange of passes on the left wing freed
M. Abrahamsen of Hawk to slip through the defence and score another goal for the visitors. That made the score 0 - 3.
At the 33 minute mark, it looked like the opportunity for Hawk to score had been missed until
I. Bjelke suddenly worked his way clear and fired off a spectacular shot. The keeper had no chance! 0 - 4.
Halftime score was 0 - 4.
Hawk claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 72 percent.
A defender managed to keep the ball from crossing the goal-line after a curling shot coming in from the right from
M. Abrahamsen after 55 minutes, and prevented Hawk from going up another goal.
Hawk increased their lead after 76 minutes when
D. Thomasberg broke through on the right, upping the score to 0 - 5, much to the home crowd's dismay.
J. Husum came close to extending the visitors' lead when he found himself completely unmarked in front of the goal after a pass through the middle. He tried to lift the ball over
W. Woźniak but overcooked it and hit the bar instead.
Hawk enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 72 percent of possession.
J. Törnvall performed admirably for Broumy.
However,
L. Bulíř made a disastrous appearance.
The most dominating Hawk player was without a doubt
J. Lau.
J. Husum on the other hand, had a terrible day.
The match ends 0 - 5.
