Dark skies made the crowd of 35700 at Stadion Pri Križu a little nervous, but the rain held off. Marius Stenerseter was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Giuseppe Gualano and Toni Tuovinen. A 4-5-1 alignment was the formation of choice for Talentirani. Lineup: Ružic - Rot, Anchelergues, Oggioni, Ionită - Vogrin, Rousseau, Nielsen, Jugo, Macur - Scaldaferro.

Zuzki started off with a 3-5-2 lineup. They fielded: Verrycken - Majó, Moreno Mora, Czinege - Nejedlý, Quijano, Mancinelli, Murillo, Voynov - Ego Aguirre, Szymkowski.

Talentirani tried to focus their attacks down the middle. A mistake by the home side's central defence after 18 minutes allowed S. Ego Aguirre to score for Zuzki. The scoreboard now read 0 - 1. Talentirani's J. Vogrin almost tied things up with 24 minutes played after breaking through on the right, but his shot deflected off the post. The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave F. Moreno Mora from Zuzki a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 35 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient! After 36 minutes a combination in the middle resulted in a through ball for R. Nejedlý who increased Zuzki's lead to 0 - 2. A superb free kick by Talentirani's J. Vogrin after 37 minutes looked like it'd reduced the lead after it hit the underside of the bar and bounced down over the line, but to the fury of the home crowd the linesman missed it - no goal! It was 0 - 2 at the break. Talentirani enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 54 percent of possession.

Ó. Murillo came close to extending the visitors' lead when he found himself completely unmarked in front of the goal after a pass through the middle. He tried to lift the ball over A. Ružic but overcooked it and hit the bar instead. J. Mancinelli received a delicate pass through the home side's central defence after 55 minutes, and chipped it past the flailing keeper to score making it 0 - 3. The Zuzki fans went wild, whilst the home fans started to think about leaving early. 59 minutes into the match, the visitors put themselves ahead 0 - 4 as S. Ego Aguirre finished off an attack from the left with a spectacular scissors kick. The players of Zuzki now seemed to think the job was done and acted more defensively, just waiting for the ref to blow the final whistle. Zuzki increased their lead after 61 minutes when J. Mancinelli broke through on the right, upping the score to 0 - 5, much to the home crowd's dismay. The referee showed Talentirani's P. Ionită the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. Although the whole team were struggling to impress, Talentirani's D. Oggioni was singled out as being the problem as he was called off the pitch after 65 minutes. S. Grijalvo was given a chance to change things around. After 65 minutes, Talentirani used a short break in the game to take new instructions from their coach. As the game started to slip away for Talentirani, the manager decided to change the tactical approach. Possession in this half belonged to Talentirani, who controlled the ball 57 percent of the time.

Most important Talentirani player was R. Scaldaferro. A. Ružic turned in a dismal performance, however. M. Szymkowski performed admirably for Zuzki. However, M. Czinege made a disastrous appearance. The match ends 0 - 5.
