48558 punters turned up at
Efm, and despite threatening clouds on the horizon, no rain came.
Jari Munck was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Leonard Mederski and
Hans-Toby Spielvogel.
A 3-5-2 alignment was the formation of choice for Efms.
The following players took the field: Aharon - Mayzlish, Vesala, Kayabaşı - Tanquerel, Burnius, de Munck, Sezzi, Schoenefelss - Groenewold, Borsari.
Pistols had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation.
Lineup: Wölki - Pugliese, Harrison, Barra - Brandenbaum, Hellblad, van Zetten, Casu, Germain - Kąpelewski, Aquile.
Pistols were mostly trying to use their skill at attacking on the flanks.
Y. Grinyuk was called on to replace Pistols's
T. Kąpelewski after 12 minutes following a nasty collision.
E. Pugliese was the new captain of Pistols - handed the armband by the departing player.
With 13 minutes played, Pistols's well-worked indirect free kick caused havoc in the penalty area, and when the ball eventually fell to
Y. Grinyuk he gleefully slotted the ball home to make it 0 - 1.
Players in Pistols heard their coach's words ringing in their ears and steered their central attacks to the wings instead.
With 17 minutes played, Pistols put themselves up 0 - 2 after an attack from the right, caused by a defensive blunder. The scorer was
D. van Zetten.
The home side worked their way through the middle and almost got one back when
I. Groenewold tried to sneak the ball past the keeper.
T. Wölki was too alert for that!
27 minutes into the game,
I. Groenewold had to leave the pitch due to a knee injury. In came
J. Carioca.
The teams went for the halftime break at 0 - 2.
Efms had most of the ball, with 52 percent of possession.
T. Germain increased the visitors' lead by putting a volley away after a pass from the right. 0 - 3.
After 77 minutes,
T. Vesala had a good opportunity to reduce the scoreline for Efms with a chance created through the middle, but wasn't cool enough. The ball went miles over the bar.
M. Aquile of Pistols took advantage of a mistake on the home side's right after 78 minutes which increased the away team's lead to 0 - 4.
At this point, it was obvious that the players of Pistols lowered the tempo and became more defensively oriented.
M. Borsari did everything he could to get one back for his Efms, but keeper
T. Wölki denied him with a spectacular block.
Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Efms, with 53 percent of the ball.
Most important Efms player was
T. Vesala.
J. Tanquerel was a disappointment, however.
The most dominating Pistols player was without a doubt
D. van Zetten.
Y. Grinyuk on the other hand, had a terrible day.
The match ends 0 - 4.
