36000 punters turned up at The Jedi Arena, and despite threatening clouds on the horizon, no rain came. Tódor Harkai was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Bing Brandligt and Zeljko Vlacic. A 3-5-2 alignment was the formation of choice for Jedi. Blackbirdz tactics involved an interesting 3-5-2 combination. They fielded: Melo - Moldavskiy, Järvelä, Peca - Villa, Aragó, Hansen, Rošić, Fruet - Weismuller, Minguet.

It was an obvious ambition of Blackbirdz to use their ability at attacking on the flanks. Jedi could have put themselves ahead after 12 minutes but A. Bonomo missed a volley shot on a ball coming in from the right. After 26 minutes a well-practised indirect free kick routine by Blackbirdz was easily anticipated by the defenders. The players forward were so well marked, they were left with few viable options. Making his way up the middle 27 minutes into the match, S. Brixtofte almost managed to squeeze a goal past the visitors' keeper, but the alert A. Melo blocked it to keep the score level. After 32 minutes a very unfortunate collision in the penalty area led to Blackbirdz's G. Hansen being carried off the pitch and replaced by J. Formby. N. Villa almost seemed to dance around F. Jensen, his movements were so smooth. Unfortunately for Blackbirdz, his finish ended up on the wrong side of the post. It was obvious that Blackbirdz had instructions to attack on the wings instead of in the middle. Some good play on the left wing created an opportunity for the visitors 35 minutes into the match, and J. Formby wasn't about to let it go by. He got past the defenders and fired a shot that the keeper just missed. 0 - 1 for the visitors. 0 - 1 was the score after the first half. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Jedi, with 51 percent of the ball.

A. Bonomo charged down the left and had a wonderful opportunity to score the equaliser for Jedi, but the shot went well wide of the goal. The referee signalled a penalty 70 minutes into the game following an offence which looked like it was outside the box. B. Rošić knocked it home to make the score 0 - 2. After 71 minutes, the Blackbirdz players received new instructions from their manager on how to keep in control of the game. Blackbirdz were determined to attack on the wing and their central attempts were constantly abandoned in favour of the wings. The home crowd was not impressed when A. Weismuller came in from the right, shooting hard to score after 72 minutes. Blackbirdz were now up 0 - 3. B. Rošić was, after 75 minutes, almost able to extend the visitors' lead with a well placed diving header after the ball had looped into the centre, but the home side's keeper F. Candelmo made the save. Possession in this half belonged to Blackbirdz, who controlled the ball 53 percent of the time.

Jedi's top performer was clearly J. Bustillo. On the other hand, D. Trimm's play was disheartening. Blackbirdz's best player was T. Minguet. However, A. Weismuller made a disastrous appearance. The match ends 0 - 3.
