Clouds darkened the skies at JAD Arena as 32677 spectators turned up for the match. Ritchie John was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Mimmo Montresor and Fredrik Fredriksson. A 5-3-2 alignment was the formation of choice for JAD. Lineup: Rapacki - Heinsbroek, Gil, Charbonneau, Längle, Branković - Gawli, Puul, Kuśmierz - Cotton, Roussin.

JAD were relying on their ability to counter-attack. H. Gawli caused the crowd to go mental with his goal up the middle after 21 minutes. This gave JAD the 1 - 0 lead. With 36 minutes played, seemingly due to lack of experience, J. Murth needlessly tripped an opponent just outside the penalty area, but the free kick that followed didn't succeed. Coming in from the right, JAD had a good opportunity to convert on a counterattack after 41 minutes, but S. Cotton's attempt to finish was easily stopped. 1 - 0 was the halftime score. Possession in this half belonged to Micalaca, who controlled the ball 55 percent of the time.

JAD's C. Heinsbroek swung in a good chance from the left, but the visitors' defence were able to clear the ball. The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave E. Längle from JAD a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 78 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient! JAD had a great opportunity to score following a counterattack after 80 minutes, but H. Gawli's shot from the left sailed high over the bar. 85 minutes in, Micalaca's S. Chirită received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first. B. Rapacki became the hero of the day for the home crowd as he saved a penalty by A. D'Auria after 86 minutes. After 87 minutes, JAD began to show their lack of experience and they threatened to wilt under the heavy pressure from their opposition. The score became 2 - 0 at 88 minutes into the game, when JAD were given a penalty which M. Roussin blasted straight down the middle giving the keeper no chance! The home side's M. Roussin came close to extending the lead 89 minutes into the game. His shot came in from the right hand side but F. Vrăjitoarea managed to save it with an unbelievable reaction stop. Micalaca had most of the ball, with 59 percent of possession.

Most important JAD player was S. Cotton. On the other hand, C. Heinsbroek's play was disheartening. Micalaca's top performer was clearly D. Cristescu. A. Sommavilla was a disappointment, however. The match ends 2 - 0.
