fäbläs 1 - 3 Sarmenstorf
(392843303)

04-07-2012 10.30
It was an exceptionally sunny day for the crowd of 38577 that came out to
runner Arena.
Tom Deprez was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Bobo Carstensen and
Marco Lamoureux.
A 3-4-3 alignment was the formation of choice for fäbläs.
The following players had been chosen: Congiu - Camelo, Loderer, Iacob - Wiliński, Bosch, Sretenović, Attar - Standen, Mauter, Aupperle.
Sarmenstorf tactics involved an interesting 3-5-2 combination.
They fielded: Longauer - Saitta, Évrard, Rinaldo - Schülzke, Engler, Figgener, Rupp, Jansen - Zirn, Andrisani.
fäbläs took the lead 8 minutes in, as
P. Aupperle broke through on the left and put the 1 - 0 shot just beyond the reach of the outstretched keeper.
The visitors kept the pressure on to tie the game when, after 16 minutes,
P. Andrisani broke through the centre and found himself alone with the keeper.
D. Congiu made a great block, though.
Coming through the middle
P. Andrisani almost scored the equaliser for Sarmenstorf after 33 minutes, but
D. Congiu made an excellent save, tipping the awkwardly curled shot past the post.
The visitors'
F. Zirn was alert after a cross coming in from the left, levelling the score at 1 - 1 after 38 minutes.
The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave
M. Évrard from Sarmenstorf a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 39 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient!
Some good play on the left wing created an opportunity for the visitors 40 minutes into the match, and
P. Andrisani wasn't about to let it go by. He got past the defenders and fired a shot that the keeper just missed. 1 - 2 for the visitors.
1 - 2 was the halftime score.
Sarmenstorf had most of the ball, with 62 percent of possession.
The heat made it a terrible day for
M. Évrard, who seemed unable to keep up with the other players.
A drive down the left side allowed
W. Rupp to get in close and score another goal for Sarmenstorf after 72 minutes, taking the score to 1 - 3.
J. Figgener was ever so close to scoring after an excellent corner was beautifully flicked on by
W. Rupp, but the ball bounced off the post to safety.
After 85 minutes, Sarmenstorf's
M. Évrard fell awkwardly, but was determined to stay in the match. That's the spirit!
Sarmenstorf enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 63 percent of possession.
Most important fäbläs player was
P. Aupperle.
However,
N. Attar made a disastrous appearance.
Sarmenstorf's top performer was clearly
A. Engler.
M. Évrard was a disappointment, however.
The match ends 1 - 3.
