Clouds darkened the skies at G-Lader ARENA as 29404 spectators turned up for the match. Urbano Caldara was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Louis Graney and Rune Persson. G-Lader started off with a 4-5-1 lineup. The following players had been chosen: Rympielak - Garnier, Di Nunno, Eckbo, Klima - Hyypiö, Selzener, Bury, Wintsch, Kylmänen - Kajin.

Humus had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation. Starters: Cocciolo - Musmarra, Guanabara, Hinard - Amoreira, Vetter, Gahr, Maag, Prata - De Nunzio, Coruja.

V. Prata came close to putting the visiting team one up 6 minutes into the match, following a solo raid down the middle, but M. Rympielak managed to tip the ball to a corner. R. Garnier of G-Lader seemed to be floating in the air as he elegantly headed in to make the score 1 - 0 after a corner kick that was nicely executed by A. Wintsch. A. Bury looked to be heading one way when he unexpectedly passed the ball to M. Kylmänen. The move caught everyone off-guard, including his teammate, who panicked and kicked the ball out of play by accident. Humus had a chance to level the score as M. Coruja suddenly found himself free in the middle of the box with only the keeper to beat, but he misjudged the finish, and only managed to hit the bar. With 35 minutes played, L. Gahr of Humus fell dramatically just outside the penalty area. However, the referee was unimpressed, and booked him for diving. 37 minutes into the match, the visitors' central line of defence had to look on as A. Bury broke through, making the score 2 - 0 for G-Lader. 2 - 0 was the halftime score. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by G-Lader, with 54 percent of the ball.

After 46 minutes, Humus switched L. Gahr with S. Tschumper, hoping for a quick impact on the pitch. The bench was restless, and with 46 minutes passed Humus's coach gave M. Cabrera the opportunity the player had been hoping for. R. Maag reluctantly left the field. With 60 minutes played, the Humus coach decided a substitution may help turn the game around. B. Chamot came on, V. Prata had to leave the fray. The visitors got a chance to pulling one back after 72 minutes, due to a defensive blunder leaving M. Coruja completely unmarked. His strike was pathetic though, easy prey for the home side's keeper. Humus's right side looked dangerous after 84 minutes, as B. Chamot broke through. M. Rympielak continued to stifle them, however, as he made the save look easy. Humus mounted an inspired counterattack down the right wing after 88 minutes, but B. Chamot was unable to convert from short range. Possession in this half belonged to Humus, who controlled the ball 57 percent of the time.

The most dominating G-Lader player was without a doubt M. Rympielak. T. Hyypiö turned in a dismal performance, however. B. Chamot performed admirably for Humus. On the other hand, A. Amoreira's play was disheartening. The match ends 2 - 0.
