Muiñeira 1 - 2 Tianix
(392848301)

04-07-2012 12.00
A scorching day at
A Coruña Arena, where 30985 spectators were in place for today's match.
Matthias Ohm was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Krzesimir Stawczyk and
Yann Mougel.
A 3-5-2 alignment was the formation of choice for Muiñeira.
Lineup: Schwark - Ackerly, Aris, Saldukevičius - Lozinskiy, de Vletter, Bosa, Lems, Colip - Čulík, Schönbeck.
Tianix tactics involved an interesting 3-5-2 combination.
The following players had been chosen: Höwel - Gonçalves, Cigala, Goldschmitz - Ojczyk, Kavourmatzis, Popović, Soncco, Medina Cantalejo - Gassol, Albella.
Muiñeira were mostly trying to use their skill at attacking on the flanks.
Tianix took a creative approach on the field.
It was a hot and sunny day, and several players seemed worn out. Maybe this was why
F. Cigala found an unusual amount of space for his snappy footwork.
The celebrations in the stands could only mean one thing -
M. Lozinskiy's free kick had found the back of the net and put Muiñeira ahead 1 - 0!
With 27 minutes played,
E. Albella came in from the right and could have evened the score, but the defenders successfully repelled the attack by Tianix.
Tianix had a chance to level the score as
A. Kavourmatzis suddenly found himself free in the middle of the box with only the keeper to beat, but he misjudged the finish, and only managed to hit the bar.
The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave
F. Lems from Muiñeira a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 31 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient!
Tianix's
G. Höwel went down after a savage challenge, but could continue playing after some medical attention.
It was 1 - 0 at the break.
Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Tianix, with 51 percent of the ball.
Muiñeira had a good opportunity to attack in the middle, but remembered their instructions to focus on wing attacks instead.
M. Lozinskiy left the field with a smile on his face as he was substituted 65 minutes into the game, as his team was in the lead.
P. Basoa was the replacement.
Muiñeira's defence sent a ball soaring up the middle on a beautiful counterattack with 71 minutes gone, but
P. Čulík's finish was met by the reaching hands of the keeper.
After 75 minutes, the visitors tied it up at 1 - 1 when a fantastic pass from the left was finished off by
E. Albella.
Many thought
L. Colip ought to have been awarded a penalty 79 minutes into the game, as he went down trying to dribble around
G. Höwel after a determined run through the middle.
After 80 minutes, Tianix put themselves up 1 - 2, as
E. Albella finished off a strike from the left with a real cannonball of a shot.
The sunny day didn't make things easy for
J. Gonçalves who didn't seem his usual powerful self on the pitch.
Tianix claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 53 percent.
Most important Muiñeira player was
D. Bosa.
P. Basoa turned in a dismal performance, however.
Tianix's top performer was clearly
M. Soncco.
However,
F. Cigala made a disastrous appearance.
The match ends 1 - 2.
