33901 fans braved the pouring rain at
Darhešyv Arena.
Sebastian Ştefan was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Walter Giorgio Arcostro and
Anders Beckhall.
Darhešyv started off with a 4-5-1 lineup.
Lineup: Latif - Fernández, Vallebona, Bukač, Eberle - Arrufat, Oberschachner, Rippe, Landauer, Paulsson - Giry.
A 4-4-2 alignment was the formation of choice for Planá.
The following players took the field: dos Santos - Nordbo, Bohnenberger, Bussigel, Rutešić - Szulga, Florian, Jolačić, Giacomini - Pavlov, Mertz.
Planá were relying on their ability to counter-attack.
Slack defending gave Darhešyv a chance to take the lead with 14 minutes played, but
S. Giry's cross from the left flank was fumbled in front of the goal and easily dealt with by the opposition.
This was a good period for the visitors, with several opportunities to take the lead, particularly when
J. Mertz slipped through the defence on the right to come up alone against
S. Latif, but the home side's keeper showed his lightning reflexes.
With 19 minutes played
G. Oberschachner almost put the home team one ahead on a cross coming in from the right, but the shot went just wide.
Darhešyv were very close to putting themselves one up after 25 minutes as
M. Paulsson got through on the left, but failing in concentration, he shot the ball wide.
The home crowd was not impressed by the fancy moves of Planá's
K. Nordbo after 33 minutes. He converted a pass from the left for a goal, resulting in the visitors taking the 0 - 1 lead.
The teams went for the halftime break at 0 - 1.
Possession in this half belonged to Darhešyv, who controlled the ball 56 percent of the time.
Although the whole team were struggling to impress, Darhešyv's
S. Vallebona was singled out as being the problem as he was called off the pitch after 46 minutes.
A. Borowski was given a chance to change things around.
The bench was restless, and with 46 minutes passed Darhešyv's coach gave
J. Poslušný the opportunity the player had been hoping for.
P. Landauer reluctantly left the field.
Thighs bulging,
J. Fernández charged past the weaker players, seemingly oblivious to the rain.
The crowd chanted their encouragement as Darhešyv's
V. Rippe came in from the right after 76 minutes and put the ball in the net to level the score at 1 - 1.
Darhešyv fans held their breath as
V. Rippe scampered down the left side. He successfully avoided all challenges and cracked home the shot for 2 - 1!
After 84 minutes, the away team failed to deal with a good exchange of passes on the right, and
O. Bukač gave the Darhešyv supporters even more to cheer about when he increased the lead to 3 - 1.
A questionable free kick call just outside the home side's penalty area gave Planá a chance at reducing the score 88 minutes into the match. In the end, the ball went wide.
Planá's
W. Szulga had to watch the rest of the game from the sidelines, after twisting his ankle with 88 minutes having been played.
C. Opseth was the replacement.
Darhešyv had most of the ball, with 56 percent of possession.
Most important Darhešyv player was
J. Fernández.
J. Poslušný was a disappointment, however.
Planá's best player was
O. Florian.
However,
C. Opseth made a disastrous appearance.
The match ends 3 - 1.
