(392856942)

04-07-2012 15.00
Overcast weather free of rain made for a crowd turnout of 38035 at
La tanière today.
Tomas Ecklius was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Florian Stephenson and
Guus Wortel.
Patt tactics involved an interesting 5-4-1 combination.
The following players took the field: Kostadinov - Zumtobel, Heuer, Lefebvre, Kluukeri, Fernández - Mocanu, Silva Sobral, Chavatte, Eber - Pajumäki.
Banquise had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation.
The following players had been chosen: Pati - Forato, Rada, Ovesson - Ligier, Planque, Moneta, Shamai, Cayuela - Nowaliński, Milán.
Patt seemed to prefer attacking in the middle.
Patt fans held their breath as
L. Silva Sobral scampered down the left side. He successfully avoided all challenges and cracked home the shot for 1 - 0!
8 minutes in, Patt's
Ş. Mocanu received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first.
Banquise's right side looked dangerous 20 minutes in, but
A. Kostadinov made a good save on
M. Planque's hard shot to the top corner.
After 30 minutes, Banquise switched
P. Cayuela with
A. Häkkilä, hoping for a quick impact on the pitch.
After 32 minutes, the visitors tied it up at 1 - 1 when a fantastic pass from the left was finished off by
G. Moneta.
35 minutes into the match and the home team took a 2 - 1 lead after breaking through on the left. The scorer for Patt was
N. Pajumäki.
With 40 minutes played, the visitors could have drawn level after
L. Rada came through the middle, but his kick went wide.
2 - 1 was the score after the first half.
Banquise claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 53 percent.
With 76 minutes played, Patt's
G. Zumtobel almost extended the lead, but his shot from the left glanced off the top of the bar to fall behind the net.
It might be a while before the fans see Banquise's
Y. Shamai again, after he had to leave the field in great distress at the 79 minute mark. He was replaced by
T. Varela.
The visitors didn't give in and, after 82 minutes,
A. Häkkilä got through the home side's central line of defence, rolling in the equaliser to make it 2 - 2.
Banquise had several good opportunities to take the lead, especially 86 minutes in when
A. Häkkilä came up alone against
A. Kostadinov who managed a block.
Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Banquise, with 57 percent of the ball.
Still tied after 90 minutes, the match continued into extra time.
The guests almost went up by a goal after 99 minutes when
J. Nowaliński came through and shot from the right. The ball bounced harmlessly off the post, though.
The visiting
M. Ovesson was booed thoroughly by the home crowd 103 minutes into the game, after he broke through the middle and scored, resulting in the visitors taking the lead. 2 - 3 was the score.
With that Banquise had won the game in extra time.
X. Chavatte performed admirably for Patt.
D. Lefebvre turned in a dismal performance, however.
Most important Banquise player was
U. Pati.
On the other hand,
M. Ligier's play was disheartening.
The match ends 2 - 3.
