Fairly good weather for football had drawn a crowd of 45007 to Mørkvedlia. Pedro Abizanda was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Maximilian Strieder and Alberto Olazábal. Mørkved started off with a 3-5-2 lineup. They fielded: Sipán - Reverchon, Groener, Ringeberg - Pavelescu, Marc, Tentarelli, Pe'er, Gunstrøm - Rouch, Cerci.

Mørkved tried to focus their attacks down the middle. The home side put themselves ahead 1 - 0 after 7 minutes courtesy of a breakthrough from J. Cerci, who scored with a stunning volley following a cross from the right wing. 28 minutes into the match, C. Spradau bent a free kick around the home team's defensive formation, leaving the keeper with no chance for a save. Hippo had levelled the scoreline at 1 - 1. A counterattack by Mørkved after 31 minutes could have resulted in a goal, but C. Ringeberg, coming in on the left, couldn't get the shot off. D. Groener of Mørkved received a yellow card after 36 minutes for unsportsmanlike behaviour. Some good play on the left wing created an opportunity for the visitors 38 minutes into the match, and D. De Mita wasn't about to let it go by. He got past the defenders and fired a shot that the keeper just missed. 1 - 2 for the visitors. 1 - 2 was the halftime score. Hippo had most of the ball, with 58 percent of possession.

The cannonball from 35 metres by P. Alcalde of Hippo was an impressive sight, but didn't make it into the net. With 78 minutes played, Mørkved's D. Groener found an opening in the visitors' left side defence, but his shot was handled easily by the keeper. C. Spradau received a delicate pass through the home side's central defence after 79 minutes, and chipped it past the flailing keeper to score making it 1 - 3. The Hippo fans went wild, whilst the home fans started to think about leaving early. After 79 minutes, the Hippo players received new instructions from their manager on how to keep in control of the game. After a short break after 79 minutes, Hippo seemed to change their tactical approach a bit. Mørkved were determined to attack in the middle, even their wing attacks ended up centrally. Mørkved's J. Marc cut towards the middle after 83 minutes, receiving a brilliant pass and slicing through the visiting team's central defence, reducing the lead to 2 - 3. With the scoreboard showing that 87 minutes had been played, Hippo nearly put themselves up another goal after F. Rizzato came through on the left. Fortunately for the home crowd, the keeper made the save. After 88 minutes, Mørkved's W. Reverchon fell awkwardly, but was determined to stay in the match. That's the spirit! With 88 minutes played, a quick exchange of passes on the left wing freed B. Thorstensen of Hippo to slip through the defence and score another goal for the visitors. That made the score 2 - 4. Hippo claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 52 percent.

The most dominating Mørkved player was without a doubt J. Cerci. On the other hand, R. Pavelescu's play was disheartening. Hippo's top performer was clearly P. Alcalde. However, C. Spradau made a disastrous appearance. The match ends 2 - 4.
