Dark skies made the crowd of 34876 at Savannah Park a little nervous, but the rain held off. Vladimir Heuze was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Kunter Sayın and Taavi Saron. The Xzebra free kick 3 minutes into the match seemed wasted, as the shot was both short and off target. But was this actually a plan? The ball landed at the feet of M. Hovland, who was completely unmarked in the box. That's 1 - 0! Donners were determined to attack on the wing and their central attempts were constantly abandoned in favour of the wings. The visitors' equaliser seemed sure to come after 5 minutes, following a one on one situation around the left hand side of the goal area, but T. Johannesen got the best of it, blocking the shot from A. Vanakool. It was obvious that Donners had instructions to attack on the wings instead of in the middle. S. Eilsø came close to levelling the score 20 minutes into the game, as he was set up with a through ball coming in from the left, but his shot hit the post. Attacking on the wings was the choice for Xzebra, and they were successfully passing the ball from the middle to the wings to attack. As H. Seiffert had, completely unprovoked, swept the legs out from under an opponent in front of a linesman, the referee gave the Xzebra player a red card without batting an eyelid. Donners were forced into a substitution as A. Pandini couldn't continue due to some rough treatment, forcing J. Eilsø to come in off the bench. It was 1 - 0 at the break. Donners enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 55 percent of possession.

Players in Xzebra heard their coach's words ringing in their ears and steered their central attacks to the wings instead. A crazy pass by T. Heggestad towards his own keeper almost caused a goal for Donners, but J. Eilsø didn't get the finish right. R. Hayashi of Donners displayed some of his fantastic technical abilities when he brought the ball down neatly using his instep before nutmegging the bewildered T. Neset and smashing an unstoppable shot past the goalkeeper to make it 1 - 1. It was obvious that Donners had instructions to attack on the wings instead of in the middle. Donners's S. Eilsø managed to lose the defenders as he advanced down the right wing and scored, putting the visitors ahead after 60 minutes. 1 - 2. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Donners, with 54 percent of the ball.

The most dominating Xzebra player was without a doubt M. Hovland. T. Neset was a disappointment, however. Most important Donners player was S. Eilsø. J. Eilsø turned in a dismal performance, however. The match ends 1 - 2.
