Høyer flipped the ball in after a cross from the right. Things were deteriorating for the away team as simbandika scored another to make it 2 - 0 after a left side attack resulted in a goal for J. Kuumola after 38 minutes. Confident in their lead, simbandika's players relaxed and focused more on defending the lead than increasing it. 2 - 0 was the halftime score. Possession in this half belonged to simbandika, who controlled the ball 70 percent of the time.

M. Aalto wanted to play on, but the simbandika coach had other ideas, and he was replaced 46 minutes into the game by S. Hack.
