(392861396)

04-07-2012 12.05
The crowd of 784 turning up at
Ghost In The Shell today were greeted with some nasty showers of rain.
Maximilian Waibel was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Aimo Santambrogio and
Daniel Dénervaud.
Unikoke had chosen a strategic 4-3-3 formation.
The following players took the field: Almeyda - Vivero Luna, Guerbillano, Eres, Alventosa - Rocasolano, Ibarra, Galán - Satrustegui, Faixeda, Cascabuey.
A 3-4-3 alignment was the formation of choice for Gemina.
Lineup: Barrenechea - Pujades, Ilmberger, Villegas - Echeberz, Nasiopoulos, Katsimichas, Ilasa - Thalau, Duro, Bulović.
The visiting
F. Bulović was booed thoroughly by the home crowd 28 minutes into the game, after he broke through the middle and scored, resulting in the visitors taking the lead. 0 - 1 was the score.
After 30 minutes,
M. Rocasolano got through on the right and was very close to equalising for the home side, but didn't get the shot away.
The visitors'
M. Thalau took advantage of a misunderstanding between the home side's goalie and centre backs 31 minutes into the match. 0 - 2 for Gemina.
Unikoke's
P. Cascabuey cut towards the middle after 32 minutes, receiving a brilliant pass and slicing through the visiting team's central defence, reducing the lead to 1 - 2.
The game was characterised by rough play and many physical challenges on the wet field, but
B. Echeberz showed great heart and had a good game.
F. Bulović wanted to play on, but the Gemina coach had other ideas, and he was replaced 38 minutes into the game by
S. Pyrc.
1 - 2 was the halftime score.
Unikoke had most of the ball, with 54 percent of possession.
The home crowd cheered when, after 53 minutes,
S. Pyrc's charge up the middle resulted in the keeper making one of his best saves of the day.
With 59 minutes having been played, Unikoke scored to make it 2 - 2. A dribble down the left wing, followed by a shot which took a wicked bounce off a defender resulted in the keeper having no chance. Everyone thought it'd been an own goal, but
T. Ibarra was marked down as the scorer.
Some quick footwork on the left side of the field 66 minutes into the match left Gemina's
S. Pyrc completely free to score. 2 - 3 for the visitors.
73 minutes into the match, Unikoke's
D. Galán maneuvered his way around the opposition on the left flank, delighting the crowd with his twists and turns. The effort paid off as the ball found the back of the net, evening the score at 3 - 3.
A mistake by the home side's central defence after 74 minutes allowed
B. Echeberz to score for Gemina. The scoreboard now read 3 - 4.
76 minutes into the game, Gemina worked the left side industriously creating several opportunities to add to their lead, but just couldn't apply the finishing touch.
Gemina had a great opportunity to score following a counterattack after 81 minutes, but
C. Duro's shot from the left sailed high over the bar.
After 83 minutes, Unikoke's
P. Cascabuey fell awkwardly, but was determined to stay in the match. That's the spirit!
Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Unikoke, with 55 percent of the ball.
The most dominating Unikoke player was without a doubt
P. Cascabuey.
However,
R. Alventosa made a disastrous appearance.
Most important Gemina player was
C. Duro.
A. Barrenechea was a disappointment, however.
The match ends 3 - 4.
