Clouds darkened the skies at
Campo de Fútbol Burgos as 2254 spectators turned up for the match.
Gaudijus Šlamiškis was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Michele Passarelli and
Donatien Michel.
Cabia had chosen a strategic 4-5-1 formation.
The following players had been chosen: Guzmán Rosales - Montagnini, Câmara, Mayordomo, Suriyamongkol - Sakovič, Gyllenbratt, Stolte, Martínez, Salvestrini - Kholmogorov.
Brooklyner started off with a 3-5-2 lineup.
Lineup: Matejík - De Petrillo, Tischler, Minciaroni - Renz, Auger, Dietrich, Pirker, Racioppi - Rácz, Weiss.
Brooklyner clearly preferred using their ability to attack in the middle.
Brooklyner's
T. De Petrillo gave the visitors a 0 - 1 lead after 5 minutes with a superb strike from the right.
Cabia's
T. Gyllenbratt put his head to a high ball coming in from the right after 8 minutes, but the ball went wide.
After 13 minutes,
T. Stolte got through on the right and was very close to equalising for the home side, but didn't get the shot away.
Cabia's
J. Martínez almost tied things up with 34 minutes played after breaking through on the right, but his shot deflected off the post.
0 - 1 was the halftime score.
Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Cabia, with 57 percent of the ball.
After 46 minutes, Cabia switched
T. Gyllenbratt with
I. Tirkkonen, hoping for a quick impact on the pitch.
Given a free kick close to the byline, Brooklyner tried a move that loyal fans may recognise from training. A pass to the side pulled the defence out of position which let
M. Racioppi slip through on goal. He didn't have to break his stride, and slipped the ball past the keeper to make it 0 - 2, 52 minutes into the game.
Confident in their lead, Brooklyner's players relaxed and focused more on defending the lead than increasing it.
Although the whole team were struggling to impress, Cabia's
E. Salvestrini was singled out as being the problem as he was called off the pitch after 55 minutes.
T. Fredriksson was given a chance to change things around.
With 60 minutes played, the Cabia coach decided a substitution may help turn the game around.
A. Casco came on,
A. Kholmogorov had to leave the fray.
After 73 minutes, there was a bit of a mixup on the field as Cabia found themselves out of position and their organisation level dropped to
solid.
The crowd groaned when
I. Mayordomo, having maneuvered his way down the right, fired the ball just wide and missed a great opportunity to reduce the deficit for Cabia.
79 minutes in, Cabia appeared unsure on how to play and their organisation was only
passable.
Cabia claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 52 percent.
Most important Cabia player was
I. Mayordomo.
However,
P. Guzmán Rosales made a disastrous appearance.
Brooklyner's top performer was clearly
F. Auger.
A. Weiss turned in a dismal performance, however.
The match ends 0 - 2.
