Henryk Opiłowski was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Jeremy Bongiovanni and
Giuseppe Bourgknecht.
Genfis decided to use a 3-5-2 set up.
They fielded: Gritsuk - Orquín, Flodgård, Pacyniak - Taillefer, Tasselli, Sanchez, Cagiga, Alonso - Melo, Garcia.
Palamarka had chosen a strategic 3-4-3 formation.

Using their counter-attacking abilities was the strategy of choice for Genfis.
After a fine move down the middle
B. Taillefer nearly gave the home side a goal after 4 minutes. However the finishing shot went just wide.
10 minutes in, Palamarka appeared unsure on how to play and their organisation was only
inadequate.
11 minutes into the game,
J. Passi had a great chance to put his team ahead, but his kick from the left went wide.
The home side put themselves ahead 1 - 0 after 21 minutes courtesy of a breakthrough from
G. Melo, who scored with a stunning volley following a cross from the right wing.
35 minutes into the game, Palamarka seemed to suffer a certain amount of confusion and they fell to a
inadequate level of organisation.
After 37 minutes, the away team failed to deal with a good exchange of passes on the right, and
G. Alonso gave the Genfis supporters even more to cheer about when he increased the lead to 2 - 0.
After this, you could see that the players of Genfis were more interested in killing time than scoring more goals.

During the break, Palamarka's coach went through the team's tactics yet again, getting them up to
solid organisation.

Things were deteriorating for the away team as Genfis scored another to make it 3 - 0 after a left side attack resulted in a goal for

A speedy charge from the left side of the field increased the lead of Genfis to 4 - 0 as
T. Garcia finished it off competently, firing in from an acute angle.

J. Passi seized on an opportunistic attack from the right, and scored for Palamarka making it 4 - 1.
Palamarka's
E. Selveliev was shown a yellow card for standing over the ball and blocking an opponent's quick free kick after 76 minutes.
Genfis managed to extend their lead to 5 - 1 when
G. Melo cut in neatly from the left side and struck a fine shot past the away team's goalkeeper.
With 84 minutes played,
G. Grigorov of Palamarka fell dramatically just outside the penalty area. However, the referee was unimpressed, and booked him for diving.
G. Sanchez had a fantastic opportunity to put Genfis up another goal 86 minutes into the match, but he fired just over the crossbar.
Genfis had most of the ball, with 69 percent of possession.
Genfis's best player was
G. Melo.
D. Cagiga was a disappointment, however.
Most important Palamarka player was
G. Grigorov.
On the other hand,
J. Passi's play was disheartening.
