Bringelly 1 - 6 The Bri
(392903543)

04-07-2012 04.00
Weather conditions were fairly good for football, and
Thames Park saw a crowd turnout of 1019.
Gerald Wehinger was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Nedim Marxer and
Terje Fidje.
A 5-3-2 alignment was the formation of choice for Bringelly.
Lineup: Preßl - Urien, Nohejl, Riley, Altış, Saliarelis - Procházka, Hollstein, Dall`Armi - Casey, Pałczak.
The Bri had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation.
The following players took the field: Paź - John, Lacina, Monika - Dennison, Ruggiero, Iturrao, Barbado, Herbots - Nichtovios, Motta-Veiga.
The strategy for Bringelly was to use their ability to press.
A questionable penalty 11 minutes in gave the home side the lead, 1 - 0. The visitors' goalie didn't stand a chance as
J. Nohejl knocked the ball home.
26 minutes into the game,
M. Altış had to leave the pitch due to a knee injury. In came
W. Hudson.
After 27 minutes, there was a bit of a mixup on the field as Bringelly found themselves out of position and their organisation level dropped to
weak.
A cross coming in on the right hand side left
D. Barbado alone in front of the goal after 30 minutes but his shot was woeful.
P. Riley really should have scored when he was chosen by fate to confront a wide open goal following a great play by
D. Urien after a corner.
The home team will be cursing
M. Iturrao for weeks; he finished off a great pass from the left, knocking it past the keeper without a problem. The match was level at 1 - 1 after 33 minutes.
The Bri's
A. Motta-Veiga managed to lose the defenders as he advanced down the right wing and scored, putting the visitors ahead after 34 minutes. 1 - 2.
The visitors almost increased their lead after 35 minutes when a sweetly hit free kick looked like it was heading for the top corner. However the keeper managed to get a fingertip to it, sending it over the bar.
The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave
D. Urien from Bringelly a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 37 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient!
The teams went for the halftime break at 1 - 2.
Possession in this half belonged to The Bri, who controlled the ball 62 percent of the time.
A review of the gameplan helped Bringelly get back to a
solid organisation when the referee blew his whistle again.
Bringelly needed a fresh pair of legs on the field, and after 46 minutes
Z. Procházka made way for
O. Triginer.
After 46 minutes, Bringelly switched
D. Dall`Armi with
D. Tiso, hoping for a quick impact on the pitch.
Y. Nichtovios of The Bri took advantage of a mistake on the home side's right after 52 minutes which increased the away team's lead to 1 - 3.
61 minutes into the match, the visitors put themselves ahead 1 - 4 as
A. Motta-Veiga finished off an attack from the left with a spectacular scissors kick.
After this, you could see that the players of The Bri were more interested in killing time than scoring more goals.
68 minutes into the game, Bringelly seemed a little tentative in their play as their organization fell to
inadequate.
78 minutes in, The Bri's
T. Monika received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first.
Bringelly's
J. Nohejl had a nice free kick routine after 79 minutes that was very close to paying off, had it not been for a dramatic save by the visitors' keeper.
After 81 minutes Bringelly's
W. Hudson limped slightly after a late challenge, but he was able to continue.
The pressing tactics used by Bringelly were successful as the ball remained close to the half way line at all times.
Almost all the way down to the corner flag, The Bri's
C. Herbots somehow managed to get a perfect pass into the middle, impossible to miss for
Y. Nichtovios, who struck for 1 - 5.
G. Dennison received a delicate pass through the home side's central defence after 87 minutes, and chipped it past the flailing keeper to score making it 1 - 6. The The Bri fans went wild, whilst the home fans started to think about leaving early.
The Bri had most of the ball, with 59 percent of possession.
D. Tiso performed admirably for Bringelly.
D. Urien on the other hand, had a terrible day.
The Bri's top performer was clearly
W. John.
G. Dennison was a disappointment, however.
The match ends 1 - 6.
