Christian Mazzacane was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Martín Abate and
Thomas-Werner Schimpfermann.
A 5-4-1 alignment was the formation of choice for Mojito DC.
The following players took the field: Rubio - Bocca, Bellanger, Cron, Kaszak, Laybourn - Zavagnin, Cortegiano, Kiel, Stark - Manuel.
BPU tactics involved an interesting 4-3-3 combination.
Starters: Bączyk - Eckholt, Riber, Jagerman, Hultblom - Amstein, Quéguiner, MacSween - 荣海 (Ronghai) , Albecki, Sánchez Rubio.
Mojito DC mostly ignored the flanks in favour of their ability to attack in the middle.
BPU seemed to prefer attacking in the middle.
Mojito DC had a chance to take the lead after
L. Cortegiano's dazzling drive up the left, but the opportunity fizzled out as his shot went just over the bar after 31 minutes.
There was concern in the stands when, at the 32 minute mark, BPU's
M. Bączyk hit the ground hard, but he refused the attention of the trainer and rejoined his teammates on the pitch.
Some great play up the middle by Mojito DC led to a chance for
C. Bellanger to score after 35 minutes, but the shot hit the crossbar.
The Mojito DC free kick 36 minutes into the match seemed wasted, as the shot was both short and off target. But was this actually a plan? The ball landed at the feet of
H. Manuel, who was completely unmarked in the box. That's 1 - 0!
38 minutes into the game, BPU had difficulty finding their positions and their organisation dropped to
inadequate.
1 - 0 was the halftime score.
Possession in this half belonged to Mojito DC, who controlled the ball 68 percent of the time.
During the break, BPU's coach went through the team's tactics yet again, getting them up to
solid organisation.
The Mojito DC players could smell victory in the air.
J. Stark wasn't in a hurry to leave the field as he was substituted for
O. Fishov after 46 minutes.
47 minutes into the game, BPU seemed to suffer a certain amount of confusion and they fell to a
poor level of organisation.
Mojito DC increased the lead as
E. Kiel struck to make the score 2 - 0 after an attack from the left left him unmarked in front of the keeper.
Mojito DC managed to extend their lead to 3 - 0 when
O. Fishov cut in neatly from the left side and struck a fine shot past the away team's goalkeeper.
It was obvious that team Mojito DC had instructions to attack in the middle instead of on the wings.
After 73 minutes, the away team failed to deal with a good exchange of passes on the right, and
O. Fishov gave the Mojito DC supporters even more to cheer about when he increased the lead to 4 - 0.
Confident in their lead, Mojito DC's players relaxed and focused more on defending the lead than increasing it.
BPU's
I. Sánchez Rubio was shown a yellow card after 82 minutes for slicing down an opponent.
Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Mojito DC, with 71 percent of the ball.
H. Manuel performed admirably for Mojito DC.
S. Kaszak was a disappointment, however.
BPU's best player was
B. Albecki.
J. Riber turned in a dismal performance, however.
