previous 4/10 next 6/10  Black&Whites 1 - 3 Pistols (392924970)

Dark skies made the crowd of 1496 at Fighters stadium a little nervous, but the rain held off. Eugenio Pantani was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Hugo de Carvalho and Yke Wijers. Black&Whites decided to use a 4-3-3 set up. The following players took the field: Bānis - Dalla vecchia, Weitering, Sepúlveda, Salvetti - Coscia, Scalamandre, Vesterlind - Botić, Fiausch, Mesrur.

Pistols tactics involved an interesting 3-5-2 combination. Lineup: Baltaxe - Pocock, Fenk, Moßhammer - Ribani, Torró, De Gennaro, Bręk, Okrasa - Kuisle, Wiener.

Given a free kick in a difficult position after 8 minutes, Black&Whites tried a variation that they had practised in training. The kick was sent into the area just in front of the keeper. However, the defence were on their toes and allowed no space for a finish. After several obvious shirt pulling incidents, C. Moßhammer got himself booked. The manager of Pistols was not happy. Pistols's R. Ribani gave the visitors a 0 - 1 lead after 11 minutes with a superb strike from the right. Had it not been for one of the home defenders, J. Torró would have put Pistols up another goal 12 minutes into the match with his audacious lob from the right wing. The counterattacks of Black&Whites were deadly and 13 minutes into the game, A. Coscia received a nice pass from the right flank, making it 1 - 1. A. Coscia of Black&Whites was booked for kicking the ball away after the whistle. E. Wiener gave the visitors the lead 28 minutes into the match to make it 1 - 2. The goal was scored from the penalty spot after a handball in the penalty area. It was 1 - 2 at the break. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Pistols, with 62 percent of the ball.

A penalty was missed by Pistols's E. Wiener 52 minutes into the match. Probably overconfident, he blasted a hard shot miles outside of the left post. C. Moßhammer of Pistols got sent off for kicking the ball after the whistle, a completely uncalled for move, earning him his second yellow card of the game. M. Sepúlveda seemed highly inexperienced when, after 87 minutes, he was caught dilly-dallying with the ball and allowed E. Wiener to intercept and strike home the goal for Pistols to make the score 1 - 3. 88 minutes into the match, A. De Gennaro came through the middle and almost added to his team's lead, but the shot went wide. Pistols claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 60 percent.

Most important Black&Whites player was M. Sepúlveda. S. Dalla vecchia was a disappointment, however. Pistols's best player was O. Kuisle. However, G. Okrasa made a disastrous appearance. The match ends 1 - 3.
