The 2034 fans in attendance at
La bombonera were roasting in the hot sun.
Niels Erik Udesen was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Manuel Portilla and
Karel Krsek.
Guarritel tactics involved an interesting 3-5-2 combination.
They fielded: López Soto - Ferravante, Chênevier, Coloma - Oiticica, Forcia, Vallieri, Governini, Goravičius - Makunen, Morales.
DoRaDo decided to use a 3-5-2 set up.
The following players took the field: Bleser - Thorgård, Brziak, Veca - Granell, Bisi, Vieyra, Cervi, Orive - Barak, Acasiete.
Guarritel used their ability to concentrate their attacks in the middle of the pitch, rather than on the wings.
Guarritel took the lead 21 minutes into the game by 1 - 0, as
P. Morales elegantly received a long range pass through the middle, finishing off with a half-volley shot just below the bar.
V. Goravičius had a fantastic opportunity to put Guarritel up another goal 25 minutes into the match, but he fired just over the crossbar.
Guarritel managed to extend their lead to 2 - 0 when
P. Morales cut in neatly from the left side and struck a fine shot past the away team's goalkeeper.
G. Coloma behaved like an inexperienced youth player after 34 minutes as he gave the ball away to
A. Acasiete. Lucky for him though, there was no goal.
Guarritel solidified their lead at the 36 minute mark, as
J. Oiticica dribbled the ball through the opposing central defence and scored to make it 3 - 0.
Guarritel's
L. López Soto left the field after 37 minutes because of a nasty blow to the shin. His replacement was
J. González Grado.
Halftime score was 3 - 0.
Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Guarritel, with 70 percent of the ball.
The sunny day didn't make things easy for
D. Vallieri who didn't seem his usual powerful self on the pitch.
Guarritel's
F. Governini saw his fine effort strike the top of the bar following some good work up the middle by his teammates after 48 minutes.
Guarritel had a good opportunity to attack on the wing, but remembered their instructions to go for middle attacks.
After 58 minutes, a couple of quick and successful challenges followed by a shot from just outside the penalty area by
D. Vallieri might have resulted in another goal for Guarritel. However,
T. Bleser made a spectacular save.
Guarritel players heard their coach's words ringing in their ears and steered their wing attacks to the middle instead.
J. Oiticica could have increased the lead after 66 minutes, but his shot hit the post after a nice combination in the middle of the park.
After 67 minutes, Guarritel sent a free kick in high over the penalty box. In what looked like a well-rehearsed move, the ball was headed backwards and reached
P. Morales, who had plenty of space to place a well aimed shot - 4 - 0.
That made three goals for
P. Morales and he was marked down for the hat trick.
R. Granell didn't pace himself at all, and after a series of daring offensive runs he was too tired to help out in the defensive play.
Guarritel enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 71 percent of possession.
Guarritel's best player was
S. Forcia.
However,
J. González Grado made a disastrous appearance.
The most dominating DoRaDo player was without a doubt
E. Barak.
K. Brziak on the other hand, had a terrible day.
The match ends 4 - 0.
