previous 4/10 next 6/10  Klingelfuss 1 - 0 Mesola (392943025)

2336 spectators had come to Feldschlösschen Arena this cloudy day. Arvo Suntio was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Silvan Imboden and Francas Chmelevskis. A 4-3-3 alignment was the formation of choice for Klingelfuss. The following players took the field: Zillner - Freyberger, Azzola, Vonzun, Lucko - Kashuri, Höfliger, Tittler - Beutlin, Kreyenbühl, Vogel.

Mesola decided to use a 5-4-1 set up. Starters: Gavarret - Giorgiani, Niebler, Belić, Vandoninck, Reuvers - Malospiriti, Aharon, Amstutz, Fally - Napoleone.

After 23 minutes, Mesola were awarded a free kick. Rather than shooting straight at goal, the taker went for an indirect variant which seemed to take his team mates a bit by surprise. S. Napoleone did attempt a finish, but from an awkward position, sending the ball into the away fans. Klingelfuss's T. Tittler was shown a yellow card after 35 minutes for slicing down an opponent. 36 minutes into the game, Mesola had difficulty finding their positions and their organisation dropped to passable. After a fine move down the middle L. Kashuri nearly gave the home side a goal after 40 minutes. However the finishing shot went just wide. It was 0 - 0 at the break. Neither team was controlling the possession at this point in the match, with the stats showing a 50:50 split.

The coach gave his players an extra tactical briefing during the break, and after that Mesola had solid organisation. After 47 minutes, there was a bit of a mixup on the field as Mesola found themselves out of position and their organisation level dropped to inadequate. M. Freyberger would have preferred to play on, but his coach decided otherwise. F. Littore entered the game for Klingelfuss as the match clock showed 58 minutes. Mesola's C. Niebler got himself booked for a foul. Klingelfuss's R. Kreyenbühl went down after a savage challenge, but could continue playing after some medical attention. 71 minutes into the game, Klingelfuss wanted to bring some new energy to their game. C. Vonzun gave J. Haussmann a quick hug as he left the field. With 76 minutes gone, S. Napoleone suddenly found himself completely free on the right wing when a counterattack by Mesola caught their opponents by surprise. Only a great save by the opposing keeper prevented him from scoring. They were singing the praises of R. Vogel 83 minutes into the match after his speculative chip from the middle of the penalty box found its way over the visitors' keeper to make the score 1 - 0 to Klingelfuss. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Klingelfuss, with 54 percent of the ball.

Most important Klingelfuss player was J. Haussmann. However, N. Beutlin made a disastrous appearance. Mesola's best player was V. Gavarret. C. Niebler turned in a dismal performance, however. The match ends 1 - 0.
