A brilliantly sunny day had enticed a crowd of 1107 to
ERVESTIA COLLISEUM.
Mariano Martínez Portoles was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Geppino Anfuffo and
Wilfred Grosjean.
ERVESTIA started off with a 3-5-2 lineup.
Lineup: Prata - Caşcaval, Cabanes, Marko - Pan Álvarez, Teterman, Fishwick, Muñoz Sánchez, Winkler-Kruse - Koch, Vedvik.
A 3-5-2 alignment was the formation of choice for QnA!.
The following players took the field: Pérez - Vana, López Herrero, Borgès - Malgioglio, Luter, Gardinazzi, Ginoves, Köchy - Gański, Enasteasu.
QnA! mostly ignored the flanks in favour of their ability to attack in the middle.
Slack defending gave ERVESTIA a chance to take the lead with 25 minutes played, but
R. Winkler-Kruse's cross from the left flank was fumbled in front of the goal and easily dealt with by the opposition.
26 minutes in, ERVESTIA's
E. Caşcaval received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first.
H. Gański had a good try after 30 minutes, coming in on a fine move from the left, but the ball went wide.
QnA!'s
N. Malgioglio was shown a yellow card for standing over the ball and blocking an opponent's quick free kick after 36 minutes.
After 37 minutes QnA!'s
H. Gański contracted a slight foot injury, but didn't want to leave the game.
After 39 minutes, QnA! sent a free kick in high over the penalty box. In what looked like a well-rehearsed move, the ball was headed backwards and reached
J. López Herrero, who had plenty of space to place a well aimed shot - 0 - 1.
QnA! had a good opportunity to attack on the wing, but remembered their instructions to go for middle attacks.
The home crowd cheered when, after 42 minutes,
J. Köchy's charge up the middle resulted in the keeper making one of his best saves of the day.
It was 0 - 1 at the break.
Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by QnA!, with 54 percent of the ball.
ERVESTIA needed a fresh pair of legs on the field, and after 46 minutes
E. Marko made way for
J. Murphy.
After 46 minutes, ERVESTIA switched
P. Pan Álvarez with
S. Hustad, hoping for a quick impact on the pitch.
The goal for 0 - 2 was a funny story: after 59 minutes the seemingly nonchalant lob from QnA!'s
J. López Herrero landed at the feet of
J. Enasteasu who sidefooted it into the net - nice goal!
Content with how the game was proceeding, the QnA! coach let
E. Cevallos replace
H. Gański after 60 minutes.
The QnA! players could smell victory in the air.
J. López Herrero wasn't in a hurry to leave the field as he was substituted for
B. Régio after 60 minutes.
The referee showed QnA!'s
E. Cevallos the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge.
J. Köchy could have put his team up another goal 77 minutes into the game, after a rush down the left, but his closing shot hit the post.
After 79 minutes, QnA!'s
E. Cevallos burst through the central defence and let loose a cannonball of a shot, scoring for 0 - 3.
After this, you could see that the players of QnA! were more interested in killing time than scoring more goals.
After 86 minutes,
J. Murphy had a good opportunity to reduce the scoreline for ERVESTIA with a chance created through the middle, but wasn't cool enough. The ball went miles over the bar.
QnA! players heard their coach's words ringing in their ears and steered their wing attacks to the middle instead.
J. Luter received a delicate pass through the home side's central defence after 87 minutes, and chipped it past the flailing keeper to score making it 0 - 4. The QnA! fans went wild, whilst the home fans started to think about leaving early.
After 89 minutes a combination in the middle resulted in a through ball for
J. Enasteasu who increased QnA!'s lead to 0 - 5.
QnA! claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 51 percent.
Most important ERVESTIA player was
I. Koch.
E. Caşcaval turned in a dismal performance, however.
QnA!'s top performer was clearly
Q. Ginoves.
On the other hand,
N. Malgioglio's play was disheartening.
The match ends 0 - 5.
